Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

So clean, comfortable and warm, Porth Y Berlian is a great place to stay. The rooms are spacious and we slept very well. Jean, the owner, is a lovely lady, so friendly and went out of her way to be helpful. Delicious breakfast, cooked to order. Loved Boots the little dog too!

Had such a brilliant stay in this gorgeous home when away on a work trip. Jean was such a fantastic host and went above and beyond to make sure I had everything I needed, including re-arranging her day to pick me up from the station and showing me some wonderful places to walk in the beautiful surrounding countryside. The room was very comfortable and had a lovely view out to the hills. The bed was super comfy, and the breakfast delicious. The price was very reasonable for this type of stay. Would really recommend.

The room was well laid out and very clean. The ensuite was compact but well set out. The breakfast was excellent and Jean is a wonderful host. I really enjoyed my stay and have no hesitation in recommending it to everyone. Definitely 5 stars.

What a wonderful place. One of the most homely, welcoming and well presented places I've ever stayed. Jean is a lovely host, the rooms are really comfortable and everything is spotless. The dog 'Boot' is so lovely too... Have stayed in many places over the years and this is one of the best. Will be back! P.s. ignore the 'no sleep' review... Cannot understand for the life of me how anyone could write that about such a lovely place. There's always one I guess!

Needed to stay in crickhowell but saw last review so was apprehensive. However what was this person talking about!!!! I slept best I have slept in years the soft cries of the sheep in the orchard was so calming what a lovelylovely setting, The wonderfull country air awakening me each day. I was staying for two nights but stayed for three more. The breakfasts I had were sumptuous, Jean is a great cook and nothing was too much trouble. Such a fantastic hostess and Paul her husband well what a character he had me in stitches he was off up and out on the tractor , Boot the dog I could have taken home. If you are looking for a lovely welsh welcome this is definitely the place in Crickhowell don't bother with the fancy places this is the place i'll be booking into on my return!!!!!!'n

First break away without kids in 2 years. Arrived in glorious sunshine, good location, warm welcome, amazing views, nice room. All seemed well until we lay on the bed. In my 47 years I have never laid on anything worse - and that includes world travel, camping and backpacking. Saggy in the middle, feet in the air, if one person moved, the other was bounced around. Can only imagine it came from an abandoned house in the Wild West. We left and drove the 2 hours home. Didn’t get to try the breakfast as failed at the bed part of the offering. Owner was not bothered as long as she had her money.

Wonderful welcome from the hostess, this B&B is situated under the Brecon Beacons in a most beautiful part of Wales & Jean cooked us a delicious breakfast. Our room east most comfortable & though it was a short stay for the Green Man festival it was a resounding success.
