I can't praise this hotel enough. Perfectly located at the beginning of some iconic walks. Beautiful room. Good evening meals, with lovely friendly atmosphere in dining area. Excellent staff too - very helpful.
This was my third time in El Chalten and hiking in Los Glaciares NP here. The first time I stayed at Los Cerros in town. The second time I stayed at El Pilar. This third time I also stayed at El Pilar.

Cristina and Guillermo ruined it for us. They spoiled us so much in terms of the best food in Argentina we’ve had, the best location (they’re at the beginning of the trail of your hikes to Fitz Roy, so you don’t have to spend money...More
We can only recommend this place. It's perfectly located for hiking, great family-like atmosphere and very friendly staff. As there was no vacancy for the night, we could only go to the restaurant. Would have immediately booked tge room if possible...The place is really wonderful!

Hello. As mentioned above, you may be able to ride with wonderful Guillermo to town if your plans fit with his trips to town. If not, you may be able to ask for a taxi to come from El Chalten to pick you up or use Las Lengas for your transportation between El Chalten and Hosteria El Pilar. For some reason ,they won't allow me to give you the link to the Las Lengas website According to their website, they offer this trip 3 times daily between El Chalten and Hosteria El Pilar. You can go on the El Chalten forum to get the website link and e-mail address.
This is a long, bumpy road. When we rode with Guillermo on this road from El Chalten last December, I think it took us about 45 minutes when we drove slowly enough to make it a pleasant drive.
