Stayed here with my husband, my sister,& my sister's boyfriend for a couple nights before our 6 day trek through Patagonia. The staff there, spoke English, were very friendly, helpful, & informative. Breakfast was simple, but got the job done. Rooms & bathroom were very clean & comfortable! I loved having no television in the rooms, for it reminded us...

We spent 5 nights at Nothofagus and found the staff to be very helpful and friendly and the place is very clean. Breakfast was ample. There is no restaurant but an eating area to bring your own food. The staff gave us hot water, cutlery and plates when we came to eat food we had bought at lunchtime. The lunch...

Rooms with shared bathroom are very small with little space to unpack or stand up straight. The double bed is actually a large single. Partition walls are thin so you can hear people in next room as if they were in your room. Rooms with private bathrooms are slightly bigger and have better headroom but beds are still tiny. Breakfast...

Since we booked all our accommodation through an agency it is hard to make a comparison based on price paid however I think this is key as your experience will always boil down to perceived value for money. Without that market to guide I'm going to have to review solely on whether I would return and whether I got w...

The staff was very friendly and attentive and even let us leave our things there to store while we trekked for a few days. Breakfast was delectable with some of the best cheese and rolls I had in Argentina. The rooms were spotless and cozy. Water was hot and reliable. Will definitely stay there again, but book ahead, this place...

After reading the almost universally positive reviews about Nothofagus, the reality proved a bit disappointing. There were several small details which I felt made the stay underwhelming. Negatives included: - amongst the furthest hostels from the start of the walks (adding on an extra 10mins to each walk) and restaurants. - hostel did not have any maps of the walks...

The room is basic and very clean. Breakfast is simple but good, with warm bread, jam, ham, cheese, juice, cornflake, tea/coffee. If you want to have breakfast before 7.30 am, they will prepare bread, jam, and tea/coffee the night before and set the table ready for you. Lunch box is also of good value and looks much better than from...

Nothofagus is a great, clean, simple bed and breakfast in El Chalten, a few blocks away from the bus stop. Staff are friendly and helpful and the free breakfast is delicious. We were able to store our bags in the hotel while we went for an 8-day trek. Rooms are simple, clean, and comfortable.

This is a wonderful place to stay: warm, comfortable and with a great atmosphere. They serve cold cuts and cheeses for breakfast and the wifi works pretty well. I would have loved to stay there more and I would highly recommend it.

We stayed here for 4 nights and then moved to another hotel for 2 nights. We opted for the double room with shared bathroom at this cute B&B. There were enough bathrooms and we didn't need to wait at all. The breakfast was good considering the price we paid and you can get tea and coffee during the day. The...

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
We think, as many other people, that traveling is one of the best things in which we can devote our time and invest our money. And certainly, we also share the taste for incredibly beautiful places, near or far away, in which nature takes amazing forms and which may be enjoyed in very different ways. For that reason, we chose one of the most wonderful places to live and to enjoy with every guest his experience in El Chalten, a unique place. We started to build our house in 1999. It took some time, and in november of the year 2001 we finally opened B&B, were we offer tourists comfortable rooms, with private bathrooms or shared bathrooms, warmly decorated, and carefully cleaned. Nothofagus B&B is a small place, it only has seven rooms. Therefore, it offers our guests a very quiet space and enables us to provide to each of our guests a caring and personal service. We look forward to see you here. Eva and Gerardo. ... more   less
