Posada La Casita is a quite place, located outside of the main city of Ciudad Bolívar. It provides a quiet and idyllic atmosphere, with its small bungalows, its large green areas, with palms, monkey, parrots, etc. If it is hot and you need to refresh, our swimming pool is the perfect location to do so. Our outside lounge is a great place, to have a drink and chat with the other guests. Here a public laptop with Internet Access is also available. Our selfmade juices (made from fruits of our property) and our delicious dinner are renowned in the area. As a bonus, we do also provide free pick up for our guest to and from the airport. We are also assisting in the organization of trips and tours. Guests staying with us inbetween their tours have the opportunity, to leave their baggage in a locked room at the Posada. This way you can enjoy your tour with only the luggage you need, while the rest is safeguarded here at the Posada. For your safety, we have security staff, guarding our property during the night time. A free shuttle service to downtown Ciudad Bolívar is available twice a day. All rooms are equipped with a private Bathroom, Shower and Air Condition. Some of our rooms do have TV with access to Direct TV (Pay TV). We are welcoming all of our guests to our beautiful posada. Peter Rothfuss and Maria Teresa Marquez R.

The property is extremely secure and has plenty of amenities that made my stay enjoyable. The owner keeps the place well stocked with soft drinks and beer at all hours and his wife cooks up some delicious and reasonably priced meals. Even though my stay here was brief and most of the people who stay are tourists traveling between Caracas and Angel Falls, the property has a resort-like feel because of its tranquil location and wide green-spaces. The swimming pool on the property is clean and well maintained and also has good views of the sunset during summer evenings. I slept comfortably and peacefully at this property and highly recommend a stay to anyone looking for a place in Ciudad Bolivar.

We stayed at the posada for two night, one before and one after our trip to Angel Falls. The friendly owner Peter welcomed us heartily and we moved in Cabana 4. We arrived after sunset and we were tired from a long day of traveling. The pre order of our dinner worked out well and we highly recommend the catfish menu. The food is tasty, well presented and enough to get satisfied. For me as a budget traveler I found all prices on the menu very fair. I don't know how much the actual price for the room is as it was included in our tour package. The room was tidy and clean, modern and comfortable beds. In general the whole place is well maintained and the standards are high (I can say so after traveling 3 weeks though Venezuela). Peter helped us to get a few dollars changed (if you go on a tour 20$ for a couple is enough to take and you need some Bolivar to pay airport tax) We found a more attractive rate in Canaima and changed more there. (But you know the rate can make big jumps in one day) All in all we found it super safe there and its just nice to have a place to relax on the pool, playing pool or just having a cold drink. The location of the posada is about 10 minutes out of town, so there is nothing you can do around there. You've to be pretty brave to make the way by yourself. We highly recommend this place if it's not important to you to leave the premise for shopping or sightseeing. The lack of internet / wifi brings you in dependency of the owner, so if you need to book onward travel (bus/plane) I would recommend to do so beforehand. The travel agency Peter is dealing with is quite expensive and Peter takes a bit on top, too. All is all its a fantastic place which will meet the basic needs.

With my friend we spent there 3 nights and absolutelly was all ok. A little far from city with a bit worse way, but quit place for relax, swimming in pool, sunning, of course also drinking of cold beer... No problem to ask for taxi to the airports or cities in Cd Bolivar or Pto Ordaz, all service with booking of tickets or organizing of tours in Orinoco, Canaima, Roraima etc. My warm recommendation if someone wants to be out of the town!

We had a wonderful experience. They were the first to respond to our emails and the easiest to correspond with. They picked us up at the bus station late at night and took us to the airport in the morning. The food is very nice. They have a beautiful little zoo on the premises. They coordinated everything for the trip to Angel Falls, which was a once in a lifetime experience. I highly recommend it. Yes, this hotel is in the middle of nowhere, and it is simple, but it is for people who like to do that.

The usual set of bungalows within a green area with a small swimming pool.. In the middle of absolute nowhere! ..So it's kind of déjà' vu with relative character, however it is to be said that the place is at least peaceful and it feels relaxing. The garden is a good alluring bait because once you enter the bungalows, the setting is much more spartan than expected with very basic bathrooms, so forget warm water if you are into hot showers, for example. Overall it's just decent with no frills but once you are there you'll find yourself pretty much trapped in the hands of its drunken owner with nowhere else to go.. So make sure you have your escape trip organized well. Thumbs up for the airport transfers.

I guess if you are staying there it's because you are doing the angel falls tour with Gekko tours, the agency owned by the owner of La Casita - we fell into that trap.. if not, do not go there.. even though they offer free pick up from the bus station or airport, the place is horribly located.. completely out of the city and isolated.. you can't go anywhere to buy food or drinks or anything.. you are 'forced' to eat their food and drinks which are overpriced.. the same with the tours. You can't walk around shopping for tours because you are in the middle of nowhere and they have no wifi.. you have to buy it from them (Gekko) which is more expensive than others (they initially wanted VEN 5,000 extra from each of us). When we first arrived we were dealing with Bejamin and Tanya - both are ok and then Peter the ower arrives who oozes arrogance beyond belief. He struts around drinking beers shirtless and when we asked who we should pay he yells from across the garden "it doesnt matter it all comes to me anyway". They had offered for us to leave our big bags at the hostel while we did the 2 day tour and when we returned they would collect us from the airport, take us to the hostel for a swim, some lunch and a shower. This was a great suggestion given that we were taking the 9pm bus to Santa Elena that evening. But much to our complete surprise Benjamin had brought our bags to the airport when he collected us after the tour and we were dropped at the horrible bus station at 13 hs (8 hours before our bus). When we asked why Benjamin explained that Peter the owner was in a bad mood and had decided that he didnt want us to spend a few hours there and changed the plan not caring what happened to us. When we asked if the bus station was safe Benjamin said no it wasnt. Great. And then to top it off it was a Sunday and every shop and restaurant was closed so we had no lunch, dinner or snacks and had a 12hr bus ride ahead of us. We expressed our utter disappoinment to Benjamin and when we said we would be righting this review his reply was "Peter will ask me to remove it". How on earth do they have that sort of power??? To remove negative reviews?? Wait theres more, when Benjamin dropped us at the station he went and bought the tickets for us while we were organizing our bags. He charged us VEN 450 each but when we asked at the bus company later they told us that they cost VEN 250! Misteriously the bus company stamps were covering the amount on each of the 4 tickets.. do not stay there.. all they care about is money. Once they had our money Peter nor the rest of the team cared about us. Read below the comment about the owner from july 2013. It's true..

We stayed here both going to and coming from Canaima. We met Peter(the owner) at Orinoco. of course first thing he had to give us a beer. Same thing when he met us at canaima. He recommended the fish and it was excellent. The staff was super friendly just like the owner. We really enjoyed the pool as a place to relax and to drink honor system beer(very reasonably priced). The staff had our airport transfers arranged and everything was great. if i did it over I would linger a little longer at Posada la Casita.

Nice and quiet place to stay and rest before going to Canaima or Orinoco Delta. Rooms were large and clean. Staff friendly and helpful, very good service. We could leave our main luggage in the posada while travelling to Canaima and Angel Fall. Food inexpensive and good. It is a long ride from the posada to Ciudad Bolivar, which is a dangerous place.

Posada is about a 15 minute drive from Cuidad Bolivar. When here you are here at the property and relaxing, as there is nothing around the posada. There is a nice pool with lounge chairs, a pool table and a small zoo....all without charge. Meals are not included but are very well priced (inexpensive) and large portions with great presentation. Charges here are placed on an honor system. The landscaping is quite nice here as well. Room are very well sized for the price, and include a good bathroom. I don't believe there is hot water but its fairly warm temperature. Enjoyed the AC and liked the fairly updated rooms and towels. There is a computer in the common area for use (BS20 charge per stay), only one computer and not always the strongest signal but happy to have connection. Twice a day, believe at 10AM and 130PM, they provide a free shuttle into Cuidad Bolivar and include return service about 3 1/2 hours later. You really don't need more than that! Supposedly quite dangerous, even in the day. Has a small but pretty Colonial Center plaza. it's a busy bustling town and can walk along the Orinoco River but not quite the Seine. Peter, the owner, is a gregarious German, who will enjoy passing the time (with drinks!) with you. He is a bit laid back yet very helpful with our tour to Angel Falls (be prepared to be rustic and have trekking shoes, water shoes/sandals, bathing suit.....figure if you are here, you are going to Angel Falls. Really enjoyed his company. Very happy with having stayed here with Peter and hope you will as well.
