All I can say is, I miss my new extended family! We were traveling in a group of 10, and from the minute we drove into the camp we were made to feel like family. All of the staff greeted us by singing and dancing. What a welcome! From that moment on, Nelson and Nellie, as well as the entire staff, made sure that everything went smoothly and we were made to feel at home. The meals were served family style/buffet and they were all fantastic. They fed us three fantastic meals a day and at least two small snack meals, we were never hungry. The rooms were spotless, the beds comfy and the enclosed, private, outside shower just added to the appeal of the camp. The safari guides, Elmo and July were fabulous. They were both very knowledgeable, not just about the animals, but about the local vegetation, area and people. It was also kind of nice to hear the hippos while sitting outside on our porch. This was our last stop on our two week vacation. We stayed here for two nights and I can honestly say that these two nights were the most memorable of our vacation. I miss you guys!!!

What a fabulous experience Sango is. The moment you arrive to a traditional welcome, is so heartwarming. All the staff are so friendly, so pleasant, always smiling, so professional, they do make Sango a special place.
It is a very authentic, small traditional lodge with no ‘luxuries’, just great hospitality and warmth. The manager, Beauty, has everything under control. There are only 6 tents so a maximum of 12 guests, 2 full time guides, KB and July, 2 excellent vehicles, so a maximum 6 people in each vehicle so plenty of space and vantage points for everyone. Many game vehicles we saw were crammed with people, not at Sango.
The six tents all look out over the Kwai River so good wildlife viewing from your own veranda. There is also a viewing platform and a plunge pool.
The food is excellent, even at 5.30 am, with toast cooked on an open fire and a lovely selection of cereals, fruit, yoghurt. All the meals are communal around the camp fire or the large rectangular table in the main meeting/ lounge area, great for exchanging experiences and getting to know each other.
We had fabulous game drives seeing lions, leopards, giraffe, hippos, elephants, etc… but no rhino. All the rhinos in Botswana have been taken to a secret location to protect them from poachers. A sad state of affairs.
Sango Safari Lodge is all good, even exceptional in every respect.

We really enjoyed our 3 night stay here. The staff from the manager to the waitresses to the chefs and guides were all friendly and kind and amazing. The food was excellent. The showers were fabulous, water always hot, and beds were comfy. The staff were really great about closing up the tent windows in the evening to keep mosquitos out and spraying to avoid pests in the evening. Best of all, our guide, KB, showed us the most amazing animals including ones that aren't usually in the area. I had planned to go to both Khwai concession and Moremi Game reserve an equal amount of times, but I learned to trust KB in that he would get reports from other guides in the areas on which animals were seen where and he delivered two cheetah that had crossed into Moremi. KB tracked them for a while and finally, just before sunset, we found two cheetah hunting impala and it was a site to behold. So grateful for everyone in the camp. We loved our stay.

We were a group of 6 that went to Botswana in early August 2021. Upon landing, we were welcomed by KB our guide who was not only skilled but personable and fun. The camp was fitted with an amazing, attentive and friendly staff that we enjoyed getting to know. They kept us safe with regards to the wildlife that abounds around the camp and with regards to COVID. Our safari rides were full of sightings of the amazing animal and bird life, the beautiful landscape and the sounds of Botswana. Night rides offered a completely different view of life here and the mokoro ride was like an experience in meditation. Mike the camp manager has a great crew and runs the camp with expertise all while creating a laid back and friendly atmosphere. Kenny made amazing gourmet meals, both European and local cuisine, all delicious. These folks live in a place like no other in the world and they value and respect the lives they have and those of the wildlife around them. It was an honor to witness this place with the guidance of those who know it well. I cannot recommend Botswana or Sango Camp more. This was our favorite stop on our three camp safari tour. Go now while there is less tourism as that offers more personal experience and because everyone is so careful. We always felt safe!

Stayed here for 3 nights. Well equipped tent over looking Kwai river ( hidden in reeds) with elephants and hippos close by. The staff were excellent and nothing was too much trouble. Food was freshly cooked, plentiful and very tasty. Breakfast was outside with the kettle and toast on the fire! Our guide Shaba was so knowledgeable and we saw so much varied game. It is an open camp so you cannot walk around after dark but there is always someone to walk you to your tent. Would highly recommend staying here.

Animals, birds, reptiles.........
Views; sunrises and sunsets.

One thing that other camps could learn from is the excellent way the Mossie nets are kept away from the bed. Best Mossie nets I have ever come across!!

Sango Safari Camp is an incredible beautiful and calm place embedded in the natutal environment with elephants and other animals to be watched from the terrace and the plunge pool. The camp is small (6 guest tents only) and thus very personal. The staff is really friendly and helpful; takes great care of the safety of the guests, but also does not miss a good sense of humor. Our guide KB managed to show us a huge variety of wildlife, explained a lot and always went an extra mile. Food was all homemade and delicious with even extras for the kids. Breakfast is served around the campfire. The camp and tents are very clean, offer everything needed (shower, toilet ensuite; open bar etc.) and everything is nicely arranged. We would have loved to stay a bit longer.

This was our second visit, and we have already booked to return next year. Everything about this camp is superb, the tents, the staff, the food, the guides, the location, the wildlife, the swimming pool - everything. Flying in is the best option, and be aware that flying from Maun is much cheaper than flying from Kasane.

The day we were to arrive at Sango we got word that South Africa was not letting anyone back into the country on the day we were to go back home through JoBurg. We were stressed ,tired and anxious about continuing on to the Delta. In the end we decided to take the risk and it was the best decision we could have made. With very little contact to the outside world Nelson and Nellie made sure we had access to whatever info and contacts we needed. The whole staff went out of their way to make us feel welcome and like family. We are so glad we decided to end our Journey at Sango!! The staff, meals and accomodations were just what we needed before our long journey back to the USA and this Pandemic madness! I hope they all are well and remain healthy. What a magical place!

We stayed at Sango for 3 nights and loved our time here.

It was our first safari experience and it didn’t disappoint!

Our tent was spacious and comfortable. We stayed during a cold spell meaning that it was unusually cold in the morning and night. The camp provided “bush babies” (hot water bottles) and blankets allowing us to keep warm while we slept. It added to the whole experience!

We loved sitting on our patio watching the elephants across the river and listening to the various animals outside at night. We were amazed at how well fed we were (breakfast, brunch, high tea and dinner) and the selection and quality of the food was excellent. We especially loved sitting around the campfire for breakfast, with bread being toasted on the fire and in the evening, looking at the stars with a pre-dinner drink. All guests were sat on one table for dinner joined by the guides (with fleece blankets to keep the chill off).

Our guide, July, was fantastic! He was knowledgeable, passionate about his job and eager for us to see the wildlife (safely) and have the best experience. We were fortunate to see many animals while we were there and the highlights for us were leopard, wild dog, lions and the experience of watching elephants protect their young.

I recommend taking many layers for the morning drives, which by around 10am you can discard (at the start of June anyway). We were provided with a fleeced lined poncho as an extra layer for the drive which was much appreciated. We really liked the fact that every guest had an edge seat on the jeep, perfect for viewing.

Hello. No we don't have triple rooms. If available we could add a third bed into one room, but that makes the space a lot smaller. Thanks, Bush Ways Lodges

Bonjour, la rivière sépare le camp de la réserve de Moremi, les chambres font donc simultanément face à la rivière et à la réserve.
