The location is nice and there is a wonderful view from the dining rooms. In general staff was helpful.
The Chalets was dark and had an undefined smell. We did not stay there more than necessary.
Food was a bit boring without personality.
We only had lunch on the terrace. Great views with elephant and buffel right in front of us. Beware for the monkeys that steal the bun from your hambruger :-). Waiter is friendly but rather chaotic. Brings not the food we ordered, forgets to bring...More
Awesome experience driving through the park. Arriving at the camp we were met by friendly competent staff who checked us in. Getting to the restaurant that evening we were met by un motivated staff. The buffet that evening was good but when I as a...More

I have not stayed at Mtwazi since renovations. If you want a lovely private bush experience I would try Muntulu bush camp or Munyaweni bush camp. It is near Hilltop camp but if you have a group it is really nice with water frontage and no fences so you really are in nature.
You also pay a flat rate which may work out cheaper than Mtwazi but you will have to cook your own meals instead of eating at Hilltop.
Hope this helps.
