This is a new luxury hotel built on the edge of the great salt plains in southern Bolivia. But it is a hotel, in the middle of the desert, built entirely of bricks made from the local plentiful supply of salt. It is extraordinary...very comfortable and with the best service I have come across in South America. The food is...

A stunning, tranquil, novel experience. The rooms are beautiful and don't need a tv or even a window to really give you a little bit of salar luxury. We adored our bed made of salt and surroundings, the bathrooms get very hot however as the roof is plastic. The buffet food is very good although the only downside is we...

It's not often I stay in top class hotels so it may be that others think that I have been over fullsome in my praise. However, a very nice, warm (!) hotel, a lot of it made out of salt, is a pleasure after a long days tour. My only regret is only being here for 12 hours, having to...

Nice reception and attractive public spaces but rooms were small. We had room 136. It was warm enough thanks to the heater but the bed coverings were suffocatingly heavy. The salt dome in the bedroom was interesting. The bathroom was large and the showers hot though the hot water takes it time to come. It is in the bathroom that...

Booked to stay here for one night before embarking on a gruelling salt flats / national park tour. Designed as a good night's sleep before many nots. We were picked up from the airport (& the following morning dropped into Uyuni) by a very friendly employee who spoke good English. On arrival to the hotel (about 2000) we were told...

Large inviting foyer and common area is let down by the small rooms, small beds, cramped bathroom, horrible flat 1" pillows and no access to fresh air except opening door to large common area, and thereby erasing your privacy. The salt ceilings are novel, but would happily trade for a fan or any form of ventilation- your in the desert,...

We sent one night at Palacio de Sal during our visit to Bolivia. But one night was too short. The concept of the hotel is very interesting. The buffet for dinner and the breakfast was very good. The staff was very friendly. For sure a hotel to recommend.

Very nice, clean and special rooms and other facilities within the hotel. We very much enjoyed the excellent buffet in the restaurant for diner as well as for breakfast. The warm temperature within the hotel let us feel comfortable.

Rooms with no window and no air conditioning are no comfort. Some Furniture quite worn off. After one dinner I had to give up there was something wrong with food. Service and personel was very friendly.

As stated, I was impressed by the hotel's architecture, quite atmosphere, clean-warm-comfortable rooms and walking spaces. Good food. Courteous staff. No tv in bedrooms. Good location to visit the Salar site
