Enjoyed the stay very much. Janine is friendly and helpful. The room is spacious, clean and well equipped. We had meals sitting on the deck in the sun looking over the Harbour. There's a jetty at the bottom of the path with crystal clear water to swim in. Kayak across the Harbour if you want. They have a game fishing...

We booked in to Hakula Lodge for 2 nights at short notice when our flight from Vava'u to Tongatapu was cancelled. We were lucky to get in. Janine welcomed us and did our washing in her own machine, which was a godsend as we had just come off a rainy week on a boat and everything was wet and/or salty....

Hukula lodge is set a few kms from the main town which can be accessed by taxi for around TOP$8-10, a leisurely 10 minute cycle or around 25-30 min walk. Our party had 4 adults so we used both apartments which were good in size and practical. Great view of the harbour and surrounding area from the deck. Kayaks available...

Hakula lodge consists of 2 adjoined apartments with a large shared deck, built up the slope between the road and the bottom end of the Port of Refuge harbour. There is a jetty where the owner Jeff keeps his fishing boat. Its 2.5km from the centre of town - a 25 minute walk along the road (or you can call...

Great accomodation far enough from town to be secluded but close enough to walk to town. Amazing outlook on to the beautiful bay with a private jetty below housing the deep see fishing charter vessel "Hakula". Whale swimming adventures, amazing snorkelling, 40 metre viz diving and deep sea fishing all at your doorstep. Jeff and Janine were welcoming and helpful....

We really enjoyed our week staying at Hakula Lodge in September 2014. We bought food with us from NZ and also bought fresh food from the local market. Jeff picked us up from the airport and showed us the local features and set us up well. We shared the balcony space with some lovely guys who go fishing annually there....

Hakula Lodge may have a 3 star rating, the room was clean, the bed really comfortable,we had every facility that we needed, there is no phone or tv in the room, that is a blessing, the view from the deck right outside your room is amazing, the privacy was 5 star, and the hospitality from Jeff and Janine LeStrange was 10...
