A truly special place. You won't get the authenticity, warm welcome or closeness with nature at any other hotel in the region. Highlights were the visiting colobus monkeys, giraffe and zebra. A haven for them and for the guests.

Elsamere is a beautifully serene spot with amazing views of the lake. We were only able to stay for one night, but as a family of four we were well looked after in a family room. It's not as luxurious as some of the lodges, but it doesn't need to be; this is primarily a conservation charity. The link to...

We were a party of three - myself, my mother-in-law and my mother - both in their mid eighties. We booked directly with Elsamere for three single rooms midweek and that all went well with no problems. They wanted a 50% deposit for the booking which we were able to provide as a direct deposit and then we paid the...

Thank you for your review of Elsamere. As a Trustee of the Elsa Conservation Trust I agree with your discription of the Lodge - it is kept as a family home and exactly like it was when Joy lived there. We have several Bandas around the grounds and the new ones are very much up to date but the three...

Elsamere was the retirement home for Joy and George Adamson. Unfortunately they did nit live long enough to enjoy it. You can now stay there and relax in the unique surroundings and watch zebra, giraffe, hippo and Black and White Colobus monkeys that visit the grounds. Rooms are chalet type lodges that are set back from the main house. Meals...

Thank you for your review Iain. What you describe is exactly what we aim for - peace, lovely surroundings, good service, abundant wildlife, history and last not but not least a comfortable stay. Also your stay contributes to the conservation education work we do at the Centre For Education in Sustainability based at Elsamere, continuing the work of Joy and...

Elsamere is a divine treat where you can live the breath the incredible history of the Adamsons. Fairly basic accommodation as fine and right in the grounds with views, food is great and plentiful. Service lovely and the gardens and boat trip are superb. And extra treat and surprise is the range of large wildlife that join you day and...

Although we cannot guarantee the wildlife they do seem to like what we do at Elsamere. The grounds are not the manicured lawns of some hotels but they are mown on a regular basis by the hippo that graze here most nights assisted by the zebra. The giraffe keep the trees trim and the Colobus monkeys tend to break off...
