Incredible 3 day two night visit, staying in the the super deluxe tented suits with outrageously good views of the valley. We had Alex as our guide for the four drives and he was superb. He was extremely knowledgeable and very patient with our, sometimes very silly, questions. Alex really made the experience extra special and was exceptionally good at locating the lions and leopards in particular.

We booked into the sunset game drive as external clients and absolutely loved it!! Our guide was honestly excellent, and we spotted rhino (one with a 6-week old baby), hippo, elephants, wildebeest, nyala, zebra, impala, and so much more. He had a wealth of knowledge about the flora and fauna and was fascinating to listen to. And there is nothing like an African sunset safari. Just magical!

Botlierskop game reserve has 3 different accommodations - we were in the Village Lodge. The rooms are spacious and have comfortable beds with mosquito netting. Rooms are not well isolated for sound and one can hear the neighbors very well, unfortunately. There is a nice garden and a swimming pool. Restaurant is tastefully designed and offers outside seating. Wifi works well. Breakfast is ok: one has to choose between 3 mutually exclusive options (additionally there is a buffet with fruit and toast with cheese/jam), but if you want capuchino, you have to pay separately. The other meals on offer in the restaurant are not great, and are sub-par for the prices charged. You can park your car near the guest house. This area is not locked, but is so far from the main road, that this does not feel unsafe. The area is beautiful, the game drives are nice and the rangers enthousiast and informative. There are not that many animals though (2 lions, 5 elephants, 6 giraffes), but quite a lot of tourists, so you’ll need a few drives to see all species.

Dear 147wimw, Thank you for taking the time to share your detailed feedback about your stay at Botlierskop Game Reserve, particularly in the Village Lodge. We appreciate your insights, and we're glad to hear that you enjoyed the spacious rooms, comfortable beds with mosquito netting, and the beautiful garden with a swimming pool. We acknowledge your feedback regarding the sound isolation in the rooms and apologize for any inconvenience caused. Your observations about the Wi-Fi, breakfast options, and the additional charge for cappuccino are duly noted, and we'll certainly take them into consideration as we strive to enhance our offerings. We're pleased that you found the game drives enjoyable with enthusiastic and informative rangers. We understand your comments about the number of animals, and we'd like to provide some context. Our conservation efforts aim to maintain a balanced ecosystem, and having a limited number of animals is intentional. Overpopulation can lead to habitat degradation, competition for resources, and an imbalance in the ecosystem. Rest assured, our approach is rooted in ecological sustainability, and we appreciate your understanding. Your feedback on the restaurant offerings and pricing is invaluable, and we'll review these aspects to ensure we provide a more satisfactory dining experience for our guests. We thank you for choosing Botlierskop Game Reserve and for sharing your observations. We hope to have the pleasure of welcoming you back for an even more enjoyable experience in the future. Best regards, Botlierskop Game Reserve Management

What a great place for a nature break! Staff are great. They deal with the wildlife in what seems the best way possible for them. Guides are thoughtful and there for the maintenance of the animals and their best interests. They are involved in education of up and coming wildlife carers which is essential. Food is amazing. The accomodation ins outstanding and the facilities match. No faults we could see. L Enjoy your stay!!

The Botlierskop game reserve is like something out of a film set. Miss Gucci loved the luxury apartment with jacuzzi and bath. The food was excellent, beef, chicken and vegetarian options which could all be delivered as room service. The rooms were all very clean and of exceptional quality. Thank you Yollandi! If Safari isn't enough there is also a great gym and spa. The massages were some of the best Miss Gucci has ever had. The Safaris were brilliant. We saw lions, Buffalos, elephants, giraffes, rhinos, hippos, zebras and mamy more. The guides were informed and enthusiastic to pass on information. Robert and Nyasha were great and their passion for animals and wildlife shone through. Thank you for the trip of a life time. Miss Gucci felt at one with nature whilst sipping on wine in the Jacuzzi.

For an authentic game drive experience in the Western Cape this is brilliant. Really good value for money. Well run and we saw four of the big five in a three hour drive! Knowledgeable and affable guide made the experience informative & fun. Truck had good suspension but avoid the back behind the back wheel as it’s bumpy. My teenager loved it though! Provided with warm ponchos when it got colder & windy in the late afternoon & a sherry or orange juice with wipes for the dust when we finished the drive a very thoughtful idea. Recommend eating lunch there if in an afternoon drive. Delicious food & friendly service. Shame the day centre was closed for refurbishment as I rather liked the idea of a swim in the lovely pool or a spa treatment! The accommodation looked lovely with incredible views over the reserve but it pricey so we stayed in Mossel Bay a short drive away. Highly recommend this game drive reserve.

We have been to Botlierskop on 4 occasions. It has always been a fabulous experience. Stayed in De Luxe tented suites and Bush Villas. However we were disappointed with overall service on our last stay recently in September. Called for porter to check out luggage. No one arrived. We carried our own luggage to our car past reception area and absolutely no assistance. Hardly a welcome on arrival. Restaurant service also sub standard. I sincerely hope they read my message and up their standard to what one would expect. We were truly disappointed.

The lodge is very luxurious and the rooms were superb with close views of animals and flora. The food was excellent and!the menu had lots of choices. The game drives are set up for first time Safari visitors who want to see the Big Four in a short period of time. We had the same guide for 2 drives and we got the same script and same short time to view the different animals. I had asked to be with a different guide so I would get !varied lookat the animsls..this didn't happen. Also, our guide let the others in the vehicle talk constantly and loudly Were were very happy to see rhino and hippo which we haven't seen in a while ,so our overall experience was!very goog

With the magnificent Outeniqua Mountains as a backdrop and sweeping views out over the glistening Indian Ocean below, lies Botlierskop Private Game Reserve. It is simply breathtaking beauty on this 4,200 hectare reserve. It’s a long day out there so you need to make sure you have something in your stomach before you begin your journey. I had their hot ham cheese sandwich and it was good.
