the hotel location is good in the down town and the decoration mixed Chinese and Dayak and for the room little bit old fashion but still comfortable. The guest amenities still standard for the hotel, but the room not sound proof so we can hear the next room.over all the is not bad for 3 star hotel

A 3 stars hotel with real spacious room for its class. Located in a great spot of the city near Bekapai Park where you can find various local street food stalls, and also near Balikpapan Trade Center and City Great Mosque, Attaqwa.

The hotel is a little bit odd, quaint to be frank, have murals on its entire walls. The environment is cozy, or maybe too quiet for a hotel. Breakfast is average, pool: nice, meeting room: small, and I hope cleanliness can be improved. My room vent is dusty, and the blower too... they really need to improve for sure.

Huge comfortable rooms with aircon and cable tv. Great location right near food stalls which may even be a night market, and a large shopping mall and loads of shops. Don’t expect much English from the staff though they try hard and are really friendly and try to help with everything. There is a swimming pool but the water is quite cold. Decent restaurant serving great food and a good buffet breakfast. You can ask for eggs and they are happy to cook them for you). Great choice to stay here and excellent value for money.

The good part is location wise its one of the best hotel in Balikpapan..
Probably this is the only positive feedback I can share about this hotel..

There are cockroaches in my room (505); this is my 2nd night in this hotel.. every night I have kill few cockroaches before going to bed!!!!!
In the breakfast they serving some colored water in the name of fruit juice!! And they claimed to be a 3 star hotel!!! How come???!!!

This is my first time in this hotel and I'm preety sure this is the last time..
In this location I can have ibis in this price range which is 10tims better than this...
The interior of the hotel is so boring...

Sorry managment of Mega Lestari, you must have renovate and develop very quickly...

staff were OK but hotel was very run down. staff said the cheaper rooms were in a separate block without any lift and open corridors. they also face onto a huge construction site which operated as early as 630am some days and sometimes finished as late as 10.30pm. Dirty run down room with hair and cockroaches in bathroom. only positives were good location, good aircon and good wifi in room. sleeping was very poor due to no inroom sound insulation aswell as building work. there is a small swimming pool but wasnt very clean. stay elsewhere - but balikpapan isnt a great option for tourists in general. breakfast was soso, as chicken/meat was recooked and gave me stomach problems... fruit was good

I booked this hotel a month ago and when I arrived there Saturday afternoon (7/May/16) a young lady in black uniform welcomed in a rude way and unproffesionally! but then a young man (receptionist) in red uniform took over and checked my reservation on system. That time the lobby situation was crowded of wedding event and I saw the announcement on reception desk that the event was held on pool side, which I and Family could not use the pool facility that evening, It was a great concern as I promised my son and my niece that evening to swim and enjoy pool facility, as the next day I must fly back to Bali! I decided to leave and not to continue staying and moved to another hotel nearby, still on the same street.

I directly wrote email that night to let them know my reason and disappointment but none of them get back to me until I'm writing this review now. I hope to stay at that hotel but with this experience it's difficult to be back again!

This hotel is close to pasar klandasan, night culinary around hotel at taman bekapai park.
Spacious room, clean, quiet, free in room wifi is strong. Breakfast is average. Hotel has 2 lift but it often run 1 only.
Outdoor pool usually also used by a club member from outside hotel, look crowded at afternoon/evening.

Well maintained hotel. Very strategic location near the city center. The room is very spacious because it is an old room but clean and comfortable. Morning and lunch buffet food is delicious. Service is very friendly, responsive and fast.
