I just came back from week stay at Hotel Don Andres, and I had a perfect experience there. It is within walking distance to great restaurants, the strip of bars and Sosua beach! Currently curfew is 9pm, and as such it is quite as a mouse after that so restful sleep is easy. The pool here is maintained perfectly, crystal clear water. The attached restaurant bar and restaurant is attended all day and night by the owners and their staff, delicious coffee and fresh food cooked to order. I was lucky enough to enjoy owner Chris' monthly European home style beef stew, I loved it. I really enjoyed hanging for a drink at the outdoor bar, where I met some great locals who stroll in and enjoy the music, drinks, food and ambiance. (HOLA Gregorio!). There are lots of options on where to stay in Sosua, but I was so lucky to find and stay at Hotel Don Andres.…
I had an enjoyable stay at this hotel. The owner Chris will go out of his way to make you feel comfortable. The staff is top notch with the restaurant being a great value. The only reason I could not give an extra star was because of the poor wi-fi and lukewarm water from the shower.
As this place used to be owned by friends of ours, while on vacation in Sosua we went by to check it out and have lunch. Small restaurant with an active bar occupied exclusively by expats waiting their turn to play pool at the table at the other end. Lengthy menu. My wife chose croque monsieur, and I ordered toast with grilled mushrooms. What I got was a ham and cheese sandwich with one small mushroom on top, chopped into tiny pieces. Neither my wife's sandwich nor mine had any taste. If what we ordered is any example, would recommend avoiding this place for a meal.
We didn't stay at Hotel Don Andres but we stopped in for a drink when it started down-pouring while we were on a walk. Extremely friendly staff from the moment we sat down at the bar! We ordered margaritas which came to about $5USD and they were some of the best we've ever had!!! She shook it for so long that the shaker became icy, it was incredible! We will definitely be back for a drink again next time we are walking around Sosua in November!
Very sociable bar and restaurants with a lot of expats visiting every day, good service and a wide choice of exelent food on their menu at very reasonable prices. Chris and Manuela are great hosts and serve their clients showing they love their job. I can highly recommend this bar and restaurant, you will love it and easy to find !
We didn't stay at the hotel so can't really comment on the rooms etc. Had dinner there at their on site restaurant. Arrived around 8:15 and were seated at a table around the pool which made for very nice ambience. As the restaurant was very busy, the chef himself came to us to apologize and to give us a heads up that there would be a bit of a wait. The menu has a variety of food choices from pasta, to schnitzel, etc. We chose 2 different dishes & both were equally very good and sizeable. Towards the end of our meal it started to rain but about 3 employees (one being the chef) came to our rescue and assisted us to an inside table, where we finished off our dinner. Decided to cap off the evening with a cappuccino & although it was good it didn't have the proper consistency of foam but the free mamajuana made up for this. Two main courses, 4 glasses of wine & 2 cappuccinos came to $1,750 pesos! Which was a good deal. We will go back. The washroom is unisex but was quite clean.…
Ate in the restaurant/bar, didn't stay in the hotel. We had a really good 'pub type meal' - fish and steak... and drink- very nice ambience. Good friendly service.... would recommend if staying in Sosua
Away from the hustle of the main strip, this is an oasis of calm. With simple, clean rooms with a nice queen bed, to start, they have a great pool area with lounges and umbrellas for all. Very relaxing and then the restaurant/bar is right there; staff is very strong, bilingual, smart, and always ready to help, with a solid food selection. Had a great time and will return. Just right in so many ways.
Very nice smaller hotel. Very clean. Personal service. Great nights' sleep. I was impressed with the mattress and pillows and cotton bedsheets air dried and fresh, cable TV, wifi, great food, security, nice bar, pool table, pool, close to the center of town, walking distance to the beach. I'd recommend Don Andres Hotel to anyone.
Hotel Don Andres is a great hotel in a great spot in the amazing town of Sosua. It's clean and very well kept. The room was spacious only bedroom airconditioned, magnetic card lock and entry to your room, the restaurant and bar are awesome......wide variety of food(tastes really good) and drinks available. Ricky and staff are really helpful and always check to make sure that everything's ok. The pool is great as well. This hotel is close to just about everything in Sosua, walking distance to banks, bars, restaurants, beaches, transportation etc. Just about anything you need is walking distance away. I would recommend a stay there anytime and I hope when I go back I can stay there.
