Yes, living room and kitchen are shared; I booked on a B&B basis and breakfast was provided at the sister hotel (Mayfield) a couple of doors down; the cottage is on the main road through the village, I personally didn't find noise to be an issue but I stayed mid-week and out of season so can't comment on other times of the year; mobile coverage for me was ok on Vodafone; also had wifi which I had to connect to a couple of times but it was sufficient for basic surfing and checking emails. Hope this helps and do enjoy if you go there :)
