We have just returned from a three night break at Blackbrook lodge. Lovely quiet site with clean facilities and friendly owners Vic and Jules, who couldn’t do enough to make sure you enjoy your stay. Son had his first try at fishing in the pond and Vic lent us a rod and landing net as we had not bought ours. The fish all looked in great condition. Nice little touches like washing up liquid being provided were really thoughtful. All the other campers were really friendly. Can’t wait to come back as we loved it!

We’ve had an amazing stay at the lodge, great location, peaceful, clean and relaxing.

The lodge is well equipped for a family or a relaxed friendly stay - we stayed Friday till Monday having friends over one night and family the other. All that’s needed for a stay is food everything else you will find in the lodge (all bedding, kitchen equipment, clean towels, blankets etc)

The site is well spaced providing privacy during your stay, the staff are lovely and helpful. There is also a small shop on site with an array on snacks etc,as well as a ‘book corner’ books can be borrowed during the stay at no charge which is handy! An ice cream van also stops by which is great!

There are 3 lakes that are filled with many carp , which kept my partner busy, he really enjoyed fishing!

Our first time here and we would definitely come back! - bonus no extra charge for pets & price for the stay is very reasonable.

Highly recommend!

Fantastic site, with lovely owners who can’t do enough for you. The pitches are spacious and well kept, they only use around the edges of the field to leave plenty of room in the middle, so you are not crammed in. The facilities are extremely clean and the showers are great. The site is beautiful and the fishing lake is a bonus. The shop is well stocked and not overpriced. To enter the site you have to use the gate fob, which makes it feel more secure.
There is absolutely nothing we disliked about this site and we will definitely be back. The owners even gave our children a Easter egg, which is just a lovely touch.

Nice campsite with lovely views over wooded hills. The tent field is quite small with pitches only around the perimeter leaving a large play area for children. There are also 3 lakes for fishing, some pods, caravan pitches etc. There is only one sink for washing up and only two showers each for ladies or gentlemen but that didn't seem to matter even at busy weekends as we were the only ones that washed.
There is a small shop with essentials and the owners are very friendly and helpful.
The site is equidistant from big city derby and Chatsworth with the Dales and the Peaks on hand. Visits to Matlock and Bakewell are recommended as is Buxton although that is further afield.
Possibly the best campsite we have been to and we have been to between 15 and 20.
Excellent all round.

Nice welcome with lovely , friendly staff . Booked the 2 pods overlooking the pond. A really nice view with geese and ducks roaming. Pod was prefect. Big double bed, storage, lamps and tea/ coffee making facilities. There is a shared kitchen for all 4 pods to share with 2 large fridge freezers in and the usual kitchen appliances. Huge fire pit and large picnic bench. There was also a camping table and 4 chairs per pod. Everything we needed to have an easy and enjoyable stay. You could literally just turn up with your bedding and food and everything else is provided :) I think the pods are really fairly priced and the owner definitely isn’t greedy :)

We had the best weekend just chilling and drinking by the fire. The sun setting over the pond was lovely. I can’t wait to go back !! X

Stayed on this campsite for the weekend in a tent. Very impressed with the well kept tidy condition of the field and whole campsite. The owner even helped us find a local walk and was very friendly and kind- very approachable. The campsite accomodated the group amazingly well. Facilities were cleaned regularly and were kept tidy. Quiet campsite with no unwanted noise. Excellent location and beautiful view. Some lovely geese and a duck which I enjoyed watching. Excellent facilities to put rubbish, toilet waste. Good hand sanitser availability and windows open in shower/toilets, which I appreciated. Showers were clean and well kept, warm continuous water with a decent pressure too! I would recommend here.

Great stay, for a good price. The owners were very helpful and welcoming. Such a lovely place to stay. Felt like we were wild camping as we stayed in the pod down the hill below the pond. Nice little private area, which we loved!
There was a fire pit down at the pods to which the owners brought us bags of wood down.

Stayed again in the lodge.this lodge has everything you will ever need. All you need is food ! Came with my son daughter in law ,daughter and grandson and two dogs ! .
Ample space for us all. The facilities are the best ,range cooker ,fridge freezer n the most amazing bath tub to soak away the aches n pains from walking ! My son and partner had a fire pit and lay outside the lodge on the grass watching the meteor showers ,it was so quiet and peaceful you wouldn't know there was anyone else on site .
Absolutely no rubbish anywhere.
The owners have done an amazing job over the past year and are constantly upgrading the site ...new showers are next ! If you want an idyllic stay in the beautiful Derbyshire countryside this is the place to go !

Stopped for one night in our camper van, with our dog. Really impressed and would stay again. Clean facilities, clean site, lovely staff and a handy shop on site. Only slight problem (no fault of the campsite!) is that there’s no dog walks straight from the campsite (I found two footpaths marked as public where I ended up in someone’s front garden!) and the road outside doesn’t have footpaths. That said, plenty of space on site for a leg stretch and not far to drive for lots of other dog walking opportunities. Wouldn’t hesitate to return if in the area in future.

Stayed 2 nights over the Bank Holiday. Nice clean site, toilets and showers were clean. Small shop.
Owners very friendly. Not to cramped in tents and caravans all round edge of field ( large open space in the middle which was great)
Lovely pub about a 40 mins walk called The Cock Inn which did great drinks and food tried the Tiger but wasn't impressed. You can tell the site is being developed and I'm sure it will be fantastic when complete. Would stay again
