Great stay, for a good price. The owners were very helpful and welcoming. Such a lovely place to stay. Felt like we were wild camping as we stayed in the pod down the hill below the pond. Nice little private area, which we loved! There was a fire pit down at the pods to which the owners brought us bags of wood down.
Loved camping next to Mamma's caravan (Sam aged 9). Facilities clean. Peaceful location, no pubs within walking distance. Not to remote from places of interest Carsington, Belper, Ashbourne. Staff were polite, helpful and welcoming.
Beautiful site with amazing views. Quiet and perfect for relaxing with family. The fishing lake is great and full of well cared for fish. Little shop on site is great for bits and bobs. The owners are delightful! Friendly and helpful - they even let us park our caravan for a few hours on our last day. We will definitely be back - and stay longer next time! Five stars is not enough!!
Stayed on this campsite for the weekend in a tent. Very impressed with the well kept tidy condition of the field and whole campsite. The owner even helped us find a local walk and was very friendly and kind- very approachable. The campsite accomodated the group amazingly well. Facilities were cleaned regularly and were kept tidy. Quiet campsite with no unwanted noise. Excellent location and beautiful view. Some lovely geese and a duck which I enjoyed watching. Excellent facilities to put rubbish, toilet waste. Good hand sanitser availability and windows open in shower/toilets, which I appreciated. Showers were clean and well kept, warm continuous water with a decent pressure too! I would recommend here.
We have just returned from a three night break at Blackbrook lodge. Lovely quiet site with clean facilities and friendly owners Vic and Jules, who couldn’t do enough to make sure you enjoy your stay. Son had his first try at fishing in the pond and Vic lent us a rod and landing net as we had not bought ours. The fish all looked in great condition. Nice little touches like washing up liquid being provided were really thoughtful. All the other campers were really friendly. Can’t wait to come back as we loved it!
Just fancied a cheeky break with the family and this was perfect. The ‘Duck House’ pod was cosy, clean and perfectly sized. Tea, coffee, water and milk supplied. Bedding included too which was helpful. The site is simple and beautiful. Owners in hand to help with every need. Would definitely recommend to others and will be back very soon ourselves. The Tiger Inn (5 mins away in a car) perfect for a nice meal.

We have just stayed in the Duck House Glamping Pod and WOW, our stay was amazing. The pod was perfectly appointed with everything you can think of and a few cosy extras. We didn’t expect to find kettle and mugs with ducks on to complement the theme ! Comfy beds, cosy duvets again with ducks on, Bunting, cosy throws, a fridge, an electric heater and much more. All of which added to an enjoyable stay. We had a lake side position, and Waking up overlooking the fishing lake was perfect and very relaxing; an excellent start to the day. Photo of our view attached ! All facilities on site help to make your stay a comfortable one; from the adjacent chalet with sink, pot wash facilities, cooker, microwave and fridge to the very clean toilets and showers only a short walk away. Thank you for a wonderful stay !…
Organised as usual, did not start looking for campsite till Thursday, after being turned down several times I rang Blackbrook Lodge. Normally we would go further into Derbyshire but this time I fancied a bit of fishing as well. When I rang a very jovial Vic was most helpful in trying to accommodate us, and when I said we didn't need electric hook up then there was no problem. On arrival on Friday evening we were met by Vic, as we were unsure how long we would stay, he said just pay when we leave. He offered to loan us his van if we wanted to leave site so we didn't have to pack up the motorhome. I have never come across this before and is truly over and above and very generous. On Saturday I fished in one of the 3 Lakes. There were plenty of Carp and all were in tip top condition, none showed any sign of being caught before. We were on the field which had a gentle slope and we had to deploy the levellers. The grass was in lovely condition (better than my lawn!). We had plenty of room and the field was plenty big enough for kids and dogs to run around without bothering any neighbours. Toilets and showers were clean. We'll be back.…
Came here after collecting our first new caravan at Easter. As newby caravaners we were a bit overwhelmed trying to set up having forgotten most of the info given at the two hour training session earlier but Vic, the owner, was so helpful, nothing was too much trouble. The pitches are well spread out, lovely scenic views and nice warm shower block. There’s a nice walk from the site to a lovely pub a couple of miles away. Could not have found a nicer site for our first trip.
