I came about this beautiful retreat just by chance as I needed to stay close to the Sani2C route ... and what a gem I uncovered!! A real mill and monastery refurbished and reworked into accommodation. I stayed in room 14, and it was comfie, a bit basic - but the bedrooms was lovely and I had one of the...

Kings Grant is a treasure trove of local history mixed with lots of peaceful tranquility. This old monastery has been lovingly restored, with all the modern creature comforts added to make this little getaway a remarkable holiday destination. The staff and owner super friendly and ever willing to help. The grounds are well kept and we had a lovely picnic...

Wow! what a find, lovely old world charm, huge lush gardens where one can get lost, just to relax on one of the many benches to take in the beauty. Great spacious accommodation. The food - compliments to the Cook - great breakfasts, lunches and dinners. Lots of history to look into with the beautiful Chapel, Mill Museum, plus a...

10 days in Durban became much the same so we planned a day-trip into KZN - avoiding the cliché places. King's Grant web site had the allure of adventure. Lunch at King's Grant? Yes - that was not a problem. We headed along the R603 from Kingsburgh, R624 and R56. The route set the tone - diverse scenery. The lunch...

After a hectic day of traveling the hills of KZN, this guesthouse was like an oasis. One is welcomed by the ringing of the cowbells and the sound of cows all round. You can go walking and look at their chapel and their mill. So relaxing. The rooms are spacious and clean and the staff super friendly. The supper menu...

Great clean rooms with exceptional service from Christobel. The food in the restaurant is exquisite and the prices really very reasonable. nothing was too much effort when we asked for some "mods" to the meals to accomodate our two little ones. Definitely a spot to look into if you are stayign over in the area!

We had very cold weather during our stay in August but the staff did their best to make the stay as comfortable as they could. Heaters, fireplace, Electric blankets made us feel warm. The staff were very friendly and most helpful. They went the extra mile to assist us with our needs. Breakfast was really lovely. Pity the one night...

This past weekend we made our way to Creighton for a steam-train ride through the blooming aloes. The organisation of the Festival was really well done and you are allowed to pack a picnic basket or buy snacks and drinks on board. I will definitely be doing the festival again. As accommodation in Creighton is limited, we decided to stay...
