Great and friendly staff. We were allowed to change camp site from B to D to better suit our camping comfort. I would recommend calling in to reserve a campsite. The scenic views and trails were amazing to explore. Go visit the Cedar Falls trail, it's the main attraction. The Mather's Lodge nearby provided excellent food, which was a nice... More

We spent 5 nights camping at this beautiful area recently and loved our time here. Loop A is the premier loop with 50 amp FHU and adjacent to a small lake. Sites are spacious and open with lovely green spaces. Loops B, C, and D are 30 amp W/E with a variety of site sizes and lots of shade. We... More

Four families went with kids ranging 4-13... had a blast. Even my sister who doesn't like camping enjoyed her time. Hikes were well marked and worth it!!! Ate at Mather Lodge restaurant one night and it actually wasn't bad and decently priced. Everyone we came in contact with was helpful and polite. Facilities were decently clean for campgrounds. We really... More

Well over a thousand years ago, bluff dwelling Native Americans called this area home and pictographs are still preserved within the grounds. We had heard about the story of Petit Jean for whom the park is named years ago, but only recently had the opportunity to travel to the site where a French woman's love ended with her death. The... We stayed in yurt one for three nights. The park is fantastic - tons of trails for hiking. The yurt was equipped with canoes, cookstove, and charcoal grill. The yurts have power but no heat/air (do have a fan). It got pretty hot during the heat of the day, but was comfortable with the windows open and fans blowing at... More

This was my fourth year visiting Petit Jean. They have an outdoor swap meet (mainly for old car enthusiast) but yearly it is a pleasure to set up camp in one of their many camp sites ready for the biggest RV to the smallest tent. They also have a lovely old hotel with food of good quality. The park has... More

We stayed in camp area "A" on our vacation and it is one of the best maintained campgrounds we have visited. There are an unlimited number of activities for families in the area; playground, pool, hiking trails, boats, car museum, petting zoo and horseback riding nearby. My kids say it is their favorite place to camp.

I set up my tent in this campground and I was very impressed with how quiet it was. The quiet time starts at 10PM and it is strictly enforced. The park rangers are law enforcement officers and they do a fantastic job of keeping the place safe and quiet. The restrooms and showers are very clean. The campsite was clean.... More

We stayed in one of the cabins for two nights in May. The cabin was actually larger than we needed with a sizable living room and separate bedroom plus a kitchen area. The cabin was very clean and well maintained. It was within walking distance of the lodge and dining area. We had all our meals in the park. The... More

We stayed in cabin 14 and found it sparkling clean, no musty smells at all, very roomy, and the bed was super comfortable. The view from the back deck is stunning. This was our first time visiting this state park and we will definitely be back!
