The resort is located exactly on the beach and you can enjoy the entire time there. The staff are very friendly and help with all the inquiries. The place is about 20km to the west from the city of Al Ashkhara so there is not much around the resort. You should consider that it is not a luxury choice of stay and more of experiencing time at a place near the beach. the room is very very simple in design and furniture.

Its one secluded location which is really beautiful with private and serene beach with white sands. Rooms were adequate and good but a little over priced for what they have. Pool is nice. Kids play area is also good. For the price they charge the upkeep and cleanliness of the rooms and the property is not upto the mark. Breakfast was just okay. Its a good place for a calm and quiet stay for families with small kids.

We stayed overnite on our way to salalah on coastal road. The hotel is one star located 20 min drive past ashkara town (some 350 km from muscat capital) but very decent and next to the beach. Rooms are good size like challet and facing the beach. There is a clean swimming pool. Breakfast is very good. However I recommend for dinner or lunch you go to ashkara town at golden beach restaurant next to ashkara hotel. If you have kids they will love this place. Note it gets fully booked over weekend but empty during week days (here in oman weekend is friday and saturday). Go for it

this place is fully booked on week-ends by guests from Muscat. the food is average Indian - but you can buy a fresh fish in Al Ashkhara and the Indian chef will prepare it perfectly following your instructions. No internet!

Lovely position on the beach but empty unfinished deserted buldings, lifeless and miles from anywhere so the few guests are captive with disgusting food and nothing to entertain. On arrival we were greeted by a sign saying phone this number or ring the bell for reception. No wifi,no tea tray, rock hard beds and none of the large board of activities on offer.Coffee Shop unused & Restaurant closed. A pre-ordered (with no choice )lunch inedible. Dinner had to be ordered by 6.30 and was then thrown at us two lukewarm courses together. Delivered covered in cling film or foil with a plate of stale cold naan bread. Breakfast was an abomination. Use this place only if you are stuck with no alternatives closeby.

Hi... This is very nice resort facing Beach in Al Ashkarah. We had stayed this hotel in the month of April 2016. The Climate was breezy and cloudy. Though it was hot in Capital (Muscat),but it was very nice in Ashkarah. The staff was very good and attentive. There is a small play area for kids available. Also Quad bike, Horse riding is also available. Worth going and spending time there.

This hotel has great potential, it has a fantastic position on the beach, and the staff are lovely and helpful. But unfortunately that is about all the praise I can muster for this place. There is no WIFI available at this hotel, so if you are here on business be warned. The rooms are basic and relatively modern but are showing signs of wear and tear, air conditioning is provided. The bathroom was also modern although water pressure from the shower is poor and the temperature rarely rises above tepid but it did do the job. We had a 'suite' the only difference we could find between this and a room is that our 'suite' had a broken sofa bed ! The mattress on our bed was extremely hard and uncomfortable but apparently this is not uncommon for budget accommodation in Oman although we have never come across this level of discomfort before in any accommodation we have previously stayed in.. Our sink was also not plumbed in properly so when we run the tap we flooded the floor. During our 4 night stay our room was not serviced, neither did we get clean towels or sheets. The menu at first seemed to be sufficient, but when we went to order we were told we could have chicken curry or fish curry - or Biriani ! one evening there was a fish BBQ but the fish was so overcooked it was not edible. Breakfast was also a travesty with very little on offer, frankfurters, congealed omelette. toast (no butter) and cornflakes - that's about it. It is a shame, as this place has so much to offer, the staff appear to do what they can but it is so poorly managed and they are inadequately trained for the job. In short this hotel is OK for a one night stop-over, but be warned it does not cater for European tastes on any level.

We were supposed to stay for 3 nights but we finally moved after the first night. The staff was very friendly and nice with us. They did their best to make the room comfortable for us. That was a plus point. However, the breakfast was as good as for a camping. We went to the sea early morning and we were shocked to see the sea with a Flashy green colour with in the peak of the wave a black layer... We thought the sea was polluted and we decided to move from that place. We felt the staff was left alone without any means, w/o professional background as to how they should welcome the guest, arrange some amenities to make it better. For instance, there were long chairs but dirty completely run down. There are BBQ stations but there is no grill!! The fish market is 15 km away so no so easy for foreigners. We believe this hotel has a great potential but need to be refurbished, painted to make it fancy. On the commercial side, they should organise a trip to the fish market and give a DIY on BBQ. If they arrange a nice spot for sun bath and are available to take orders for drinks, it will be highly appreciated ! Well, this resort is falling apart and that's a pity considering the location, front view and potential traction with locals. We were told by a pretty lady who lives in Muscat for years that this place used to be a fancy spot for tourists as well as locals for their weekend.
