Detailed Reviews

We stayed 3 nights in the Hazel Safari tent and had a fabulous first glamping experience. We stayed here because it was a small site, only 2 tents, with private bathroom facilities. The tent is very specious and well equipped with a large verandah. There is plenty of private space out side the tent to play games, BBQ and roast marshmallows on the fire pit. The site is set in beautiful countryside within very easy reach of an excellent pub and Bishop’s Waltham. Our 4 year old especially enjoyed seeing the farm animals. Although the fridge was ample for a family of 3, a large group/family might need to bring a cool box as well. Highly recommend and excellent value for money.

We stayed at Beechen Glamping as a group of two families of four. We had one of the tents each which gave us plenty of space. The tents are simple but really well-provisioned which means you get the feeling of camping, but with a lot of home comforts (lovely hot shower, flushing toilets and a kitchen space) which made it much more appealing for us visiting with young children and not quite brave enough to attempt ‘proper camping’.
The larger tent has an upstairs floor which we didn’t use as the stairs are too steep for very young children but the two double bedrooms downstairs provide plenty of space.
The children loved being on a farm where you can feed the pigs your leftovers and walk past the horses, goat, donkeys and chickens.
The outdoor space around the tent provided plenty of space for toasting marshmallows on the fire pit, having bbqs and running around and enjoying a game of rounders. The hot tub added another bit of luxury!
It is a short walk to some beautiful woodland and wildflower meadows. There is also a great pub nearby and the palace ruins in the village was a great space for a picnic.
Trudi was a fantastic host - always friendly & helpful.
Highly highly recommend.

We booked this through Air BnB for 2 nights and loved it. Plenty of space for the 6 of us and 2 dogs. Safari tent was well equipped and there were some bats and balls and swingball. The place was clean and there was lots of outside space. We saw dear in the field opposite. A short woodland walk takes you to the gorgeous small town of Bishop Waltham which has everything you need. The perfect base for exploring this lovely part of Hampshire. The only thing I would add is the provision of some camping lights for the upstairs level.

Noisy neighbours just 2 metres away.”
We have just returned froom glamping at Beechen Glamping and have come home feeling stressed and disappointed.
The safari tent itself was great. Clean, comfortable and well equipped. This is definitely glamping in its truest sense. Running water, electric lighting at a flick of a button and a bright white modern shower that works. As a result, for us it lacked a bit of rustic charm. I craved a bit of candel light, dew underfoot and woodsmoke. This felt more like an ikea showroom. The location is in lovely Hampshire countryside, but again for us not rustic enough. The field the tents were located in had been mown to an inch of its life, and with cars and the owners house visible, it felt a bit like we were in someone elses back garden.
Our biggest bug bear though was how close the other tent was. Fine if it is occupied by other members of your group, but not so fine when it is occupied by a large group of 10/12 people who have no consideration for the peace and privacy of other people sharing the space. It was like we wern't there at all. They shouted, they played loud music and they took over the shared lawn in front. The result was any of the peace and tranquility that we came for was completely lost. We spoke to them about the music but it was ignored and we had to withstand their music and shouting until 1AM in the morning. We had young children who couldn't sleep and we just felt stressed rather than relaxed. We went glamping to hear birdsong not Beyonce. This was made worse by the attitude of the owner who we spoke to. She basically shrugged her shoulders and said "well they're paying guests', completely failing acknowledge that we too were paying guests and that their noise was unreasonable. The fact that she sat and had a drink with them would suggest that she simply valued their custom over ours. So what is reasonable noise? Well if you go by most glamping websites then most suggest that people need to keep noise down by 9PM, most ban music, some ask for kids not to run around and so on. Above all they all have clear guidelines and owners or managers are there to ensure guidelines are adhered to. In the absence of any emapthy or support from the owner, we were left with the stress of trying to manage it ourselves, with a much larger group who frankly 'didn't give a .....". It ruined our trip.
I am sure it is quite possible to have a lovely time there, especially if you know the people in the other tent, who share your values, but the fact that the owner doesn't think there is anything wrong with one set of guests making so much noise until the early hours that their other guests couldn't sleep, means that we wouldn't return there again and couldn't recommend it to others who were after some peace.

Lovely place and would definitely return. Trudi is very welcoming and the tents are in a lovely setting. All your needs have been catered for when you arrive, even though the weather was not great for us we will definitely return again in the summer months.

Really liked this.
The other tent was empty so we had the site to our selves.
Short walk to the town which has a number of restaurants, pubs and shops.
Comfortable and warm at night.
The fridge was tiny but the kitchen was reasonably stocked.
Our dogs enjoyed it too!

Beechen Glamping is perfect for a break in the country. The camp site is easy to find and in a beautiful spot in the countryside. Two amazing and luxurious safari tents are set up close to each other, but with privacy from each other.
On a raised platform our tent was perfect with two double bedrooms divided by a spacious shower room downstairs and 4 single beds upstairs. A well equipped kitchen, dining table and lounge with wood burner stove complete the downstairs internally. The front of the tent has a large covered porch with 3 picnic benches. A BBQ and Fire pit outside.
Beds were comfortable, bedding was super cosy and towels were provided too. The shower was large and hot water was readily available.
This was our first time Glamping with our two kids and they almost flipped when they found out where they were staying. With lots to explore, the excitement of the tent and lots of room to play outside they were over the moon. The moon also being a feature, with lots of country and very little light pollution the camp was a great place to watch shooting stars 💫
There were two friendly pigs in the field next door that the kids loved giving our left over food to. A sign said to feed them but not to give them meat. Which was fine by our lot 😃 The kids also enjoyed seeing goats and ponies.
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay, Trudi whom we made the booking with was extremely helpful had set up the tent for our arrival. Simply turn up from 3pm onwards, no need to check in. And then tidy up and check out by 11am on day of departure.
Although there were only 4 in our group the tent would have been very comfortable for 8.
Just what we needed 😃 Highly recommend Beechen Glamping and when ever we need a trip down Hampshire way again we will be checking for availability.
