Jolanda’s Petra Fig Tree Villa was the perfect stay in Petra. Not only does the place have a gorgeous view, but Jolanda is a superb host! She is so warm, welcoming, friendly, and delightful to talk to. She is also very knowledgeable about Petra and Jordan and will give you great recommendations on what to do, what not to do, where to eat, transportation and even lodging and things to do outside of Petra. She also offers a delicious breakfast and comforting tea and treats every night, the perfect way to wind down after the intense days in Petra. The rooms are very comfortable and clean, and accessible. It was a joy to stay here. Thanks for everything Jolanda!

We stayed for a couple of nights with Jolanda back in March and loved the experience. But before we arrived, I had been in constant communication with Jolanda and she was so helpful with information, tips and a recommended taxi driver that the trip there from Wadi Araba border was completely hassle free and our time in Petra was great. Her website has has an amazing amount of useful info as well. Even though it was very cold when we were there, the heaters in the house's common rooms worked a treat and the doonas on the bed were so warm that we did not feel cold at all. We learned a bit about each other and got to mingle with another guest and enjoyed breakfast in the kitchen, with eggs from her chickens - just how a B&B should be. It was a fantastic experience...........oh, and the sights in Petra aren't too bad either.

Thanks for your kind words. Such a pleasure to read this. It brings me back to those cold and rainy March days. I'm happy to share all the info to make the Jordan journey of my guests onforgettable. Good you mention the Wadi Araba border. It is good to have a pre arranged driver who is waiting for you so you can just step in the taxi and leave. So no hassle with the waiting taxi's. Sunny wishes from Wadi Musa, Jordan.

When you come to Petra, I highly recommend that you stay here with Jolanda. Petra Fig Tree Villa is more than just a place to stay. Before I arrived, Jolanda helped me organize much of my two day trip to Jordan as she recommended a driver for me in Eilat, another driver for me within Jordan, and the best Wadi Rum desert tour. These recommendations did not disappoint! When I arrived in the morning to drop off my bags, Jolanda fixed me a cup of tea with some snacks. She spent a good chunk of time telling me where to go in Wadi Musa for eating and shopping. And very importantly, she showed me where to go in Petra specifically. In particular, she pointed out this one trail that most tourists don't bother with that provided an outstanding viewpoint of the Treasury. I could have hung out for a little while longer, but to her credit, Jolanda gently reminded me that I had much to do and no time to waste. :) She made sure that I had plenty of water and was appropriately dressed. After a very very long and exhausting day of sightseeing around Petra, I returned to Petra Fig Tree Villa and had a great sleep. The shower works a bit differently; because Jordan is such a water-poor country, it is vitally important to conserve every drop of water. I also had a nice light breakfast the next morning. When you are in an unfamiliar place that is very different than where you are from, it is so reassuring to be able to have a place like Petra Fig Tree Villa where I know that I will be in good hands. Things to note: --Petra Fig Tree Villa is high up on the hill. If you have bags or mobility issues, then you should take a taxi or private driver (if you didn't bring your own car). --Because Petra Fig Tree Villa is so high up, the views are amazing, especially at night. --Communicate fully with Jolanda before and during your trip. She has lots of excellent advice about the area and Jordan. It is clear that she loves Jordan and what she does and wants to share that with visitors.

Before we even booked Jolanda was very helpful with preparing our trip to Jordan. She really likes to give people the best (local) experience. Eventually we spend there two nights and it was the best place of our trip. She took us out for dinner and we even had a evening watching movies surrounded by cats on the couch. Felt like home!

From the moment of arrival, it felt as if I came home away from home. Jolanda has been so friendly through our communication prior to my visit and was such a welcoming host at her beautiful B&B. She shared her ideas and linked me to her local connections for horse riding (so exciting!), transport and food in town. Breakfast is delicious and you'll have plenty of tips about Petra's historical site, Wadi Musa village and other places in Jordan. After hiking Petra for 2 days, Fig Tree has been a wonderful place to put your feet up and cuddle the cats (if they feel like it ;-) ) and warm up with a hot water bottle and tea. It has been such a wonderful time, celebrating Newyears eve together was so much fun. Thank you for sharing your beautiful home Jolanda, Ginger and Pumpkin!

We enjoyed 5 nights (originally only booked 4 but too good to leave) at Fig Tree Villa. We visited end of November, days sunny and warm but nights chilly. Jolanda is a fabulous, welcoming, warm hearted hostess whom embraces you with hospitality, we very quickly felt like friends and by end of week we felt part of the family and it truly was difficult to leave. The house is set on a hillside with spectacular views across to the canyons that keep Petra a secret. Beautiful sunsets, quiet location away from the hustle and bustle. The rooms are generous, we stayed in 'Petra Room' which is actually very spacious, could comfortably sleep 4, huge windows and it's own private door to a covered balcony area with some outdoor seating. We have no complaints about either of the bathrooms, however do bear in mind bathrooms are shared with other guests. Fig Tree has 3 guest rooms. Water is a very precious commodity in Jordan and Jolanda has a responsible attitude which we applaud of utilising this commodity. Jolanda kindly made us delicious breakfast (not unusual for jordan) and fabulous coffee (very unusual for jordan !) every morning, we even had a couple of breakfasts outside on the terrace in the sunshine. Dinner normally would be at a local restaurant, however, we did eat in one evening having ordered a delivery! Lovely homely feel to the lounge of an evening which is a great spot to curl up cozy with the cats and chat the night away with Jolanda or the other guests. Jolanda is an excellent host, Fig Tree feels more like a 'guesthome' rather than 'guesthouse', you will be made to feel so welcome, you will feel very much as if staying in a lovely persons home rather than a soul less hotel. Highly recommended, we look forward to our return one day soon. Inshallah. And I didn't even mention the lovely garden, the tortoise, the beautiful garden birds, the chair massage, the chickens, a fox ! Or the highlight for Angie, the jewellery making. Oh yes and we walked down to Petra on 3 of our days ! Phil. Dec 2022. 🙂

This is a great place to stay for a visit to Petra ! First, the location is perfect just 5 minutes drive from the main entry. The view over the mountains and the valley is fantastic ! Second, Yolanda is a very exquisite host ! She is a happy person that likes to share her happiness to live in this beautiful place. She is most welcoming, provides you with tea, great tips to visit Petra ( wich is not so easy) and many over interesting places. You really feel at home !

I found this lovely gem from reading reviews on trip advisor. We had a car so it was easy to get to this B&B. It is a little off the main street in Wadi Musa but Jolanda the owner sent us a pinned location which brought us exactly to the entrance. can’t imagine a more scenic place to sleep the night before our visit to Petra.

Enjoyed a great stay at Figtree Villa recently while visiting Petra. Jolanda is a wonderful host who greeted us with tea and a map of Petra to help us plan our visit. Daily breakfast was delicious and vegan friendly. Loved the addition of the kitties running around the property. View from the balcony is hard to beat! Would stay again, thank you!
