I live in Simon's Town and have been eating at the Boulder's Beach Restaurant for 10 years or so. The food is generall good but over the last 2 years or so the place is starting to look very tatty with the garden not looked after, the paintwork peeling on the woodwork, roof etc. I am not sure about the...

I was slightly disappointed with this but I think this was just due to a picture I had built up in my mind, rather than anything majorly wrong with the guesthouse itself. It is the closest guesthouse to Boulders Beach, but not right on the beach and you have to pay to get into the beach itself (you can view...

We were lucky with the room, nice size, and on the 1st floor. The penguins were wonderful, really well situated we could just walk right to the beach, well board walk. The staff were really helpful, once of the best surprises was the food, the outside area in the restaurant is beautiful, and the food was amazing, the seafood platter...

I have stayed here twice, most recently this past week for four nights. It is a small, but exceedingly well-run guest house with the best restaurant outside Cape Town itself. It is also a front door onto a thriving African Penguin colony. And when I say "front door", I mean it. There was a family in a nest right outside...

We stayed at the lodge for three nights in march. When we got our room - on ground floor we immediately realized the weird smell which was obviously penguin pooh as two were nesting almost in front of the room. Although this of course very close to nature it is not quite lovely to have this smell especially if you...

An unplanned stop but a great one. I had never heard of it but the wife happened to mention penguins as we passed by - screeeech! u-turn! hello! What a pleasant outing, Great oysters, mezze platter, caesar salad, beers and a friendly cat (not on the menu!). Pretty windy but the terrace was well protected. Followed by a walk on...

We stayed at the Boulders Beach Lodge for one night during a car ride down the Cape. When we read that the lodge was just next to a colony of penguins, we had no idea how close we would really be!! As we pulled into the parking lot of the lodge we saw a little penguin standing in the lot...

We just returned from travelling around the Cape and South Africa for our Honeymoon. We stayed two nights at the Boulders Beach Guest House. It was an average hotel A nice reception area and staff were helpful and friendly. However our room was a little disappointing. On arrival we had no electric lights and our key snapped in the door...

We stayed in Boulders Beach Guest House, in Simons Town about a 45 min drive from Cape Town. It is a beautiful guest house, set on an amazing beach with hundreds of Jackass Penguins living on it. They are small, very sweet and make the cutest noises but apparantly can we quite vicious ! The rooms are lovely, no televisions,...
