Our journey had taken us to the heart of Daun, a little town in the picturesque Eifel region in Germany. When planning our trip, we wanted to incorporate a castle stay into our adventures and we're pleased this little gem presented itself. It sits on the crest of a hill overlooking the incredibly lush valley of Daun. Built in 1712,... More

We fully enjoyed our stay, very friendly staff, top breakfast buffet, excellent food & nice sauna and pool with relaxation area. Top location with great view. A unique experience. This hotel has a family run feeling and obviously everything is in antique style.

Extended family gathering Fri and Sat nights. Very welcoming. Nice four poster rooms - three close together. Bathrooms could do with an update. No issue having the dog to stay with us (just watch out for the resident cat). The spa / grotto pool in basement well worth a visit - if naked bathing is your thing, there are specific... More

Great stay. family Probst gave us a warm welcome with a high level of service. We did made reservations in their restaurant as well. We had a great dinner and the food is Michelin star worthy. However the prices are as well and justified by excellent food we had for dinner. rooms are very clean and tidy. Wifi is another... More

What can I say ? Breakfast, diner, the room, location, wellness and pool, cleanliness, it's all superbly good. Wifi is free, you get bubbles with breakfast, staff is friendly (I'm not aware of how well they speak English, as I can speak German), you get great value for your money etc etc. If there is one thing that's not positive,... This was our Porsche groups final two days stay in Germany and we wished we had stayed here longer. From the moment we all walked in through the door nothing was a problem.Communication was only a slight problem as they spoke really good German and we only spoke really good English. But between us we communicated perfectly. The castle is... More

This hotel was great, it is located on top of a hill in the sleepy German village of Daun. The building itself is an old manor; the decoration is as you would hope for in a castle like building; full of historic artefacts. The room had a proper four poster bed with sky lights. The spa facilities were great (klassik... More

We stayed here for a birthday in August for 2 nights on a trip around France/Germany and unfortunately only just got round to writing a review - we were visiting the Nurburgring for my partners birthday. Duan is lovely and it was a good choice to stay just out of Nurburg! The hotel seems lovely although possibly a little dated?... More

This hotel is what I envisaged as a typical old castle on the hill. It's full of stuff inside & that's what makes it! We had an amazing breakfast with everything you can imagine & had the leisure centre practically to ourselves. A Lot of ole dears staying here so didn't have too much excitement in the bar. Highly recommended... More

If you're looking for astay at a romantic hotel and be submerged in the atmosphere of the German 19th century nobility, this is your place to be. The hotel sits on a hill above the town of Daun, in the hart of the Eifel region, a splendid walking, biking and hiking region. The hotel offers all amenities you can expect... More
