My visit is in November, which is the low season. There are absolutely no crowds and few of the souvenir stores are opened. Walking around the town where we were practically the only people on the streets was so surreal. We could imagine how it was as a functioning town back in the Middle Ages. Very, very cool.

We stayed here for a few days to explore the area. It is very clean and comfortable and the staff are friendly and welcoming. The town is lovely, all the streets are cobbled and the houses are old and interesting. To reach the parador drive on to the cobbled road accessed off the road to Commillas. After the bollards turn left up... More

We had a good and nice stay there. The only incident we didn't enjoy was the first room which was given to us at our arrival. This happened to us for the first time and did not at all correspond to the level we are accustomed in a Parador. After I had complained another room was given to us the... More

A usual standard of Parador In the perfect place if you are visiting Santillana for a few days Doesn't have a restaurant in the building but has its own 100m away. Parking limited, but good to have it in the center of this old village Could do with some updates, particularly the bathroom Also no air conditioning...

The hotel was situated in a beautiful old stately home and was very comfortable it was located in the center of the town with easy walking of all the sights and restaurants. The rooms were extremely, well-appointed with all services. The staff were exceptional and very attentive.

We spent one night in Santillana del Mar. This is reputedly the best preserved medieval town in Spain and it's very well worth a visit. We loved strolling through its little streets, admiring the buildings. It's at its best either in the morning before it gets too busy or, even better, in the late evening, when the town is quite... WOW !!!! this hotel is in such a great old village it is like going back in time....although the hotel is modern and with real wooden floors the area itself is so full of history and its buildings have'nt been changed in 100's of years. The architecture and streets alone are breath taking...i was here for the World cup Spain... More

The location is a must- visit spot for the area and the hotel is attractive. The main problem was that there was no air conditioning in our room and it was very hot. Being at ground level at the front of the hotel, to open the window meant letting in the traffic noise. Although it has a restaurant on site,... More
