For the cost this is an excellent place to stay. Well located, clean, good size rooms, good breakfast, very helpful and friendly staff. Not the most salubrious place you could stay in but in terms of value for money it is first class

Just back from second stay at Barholm.
Even better than before.
Despite a full house the lovely proprietors still found time to not only cook a fantastic evening meal, but to serve it at a candlelit table overlooking the wonderful Strangford Narrows.
The two courses were just amazing!
Fresh cod done in a light flour and then oven roasted with vegetables cooked to crunchy perfection was one main while the other was very tender chicken.
Both following a large plate of prawns served with garlic bread and wheaten.
Fantastic!
Under £30 for both! Not per person
Thank Brian M

Visited the place along with our group, StopGaps Cultural Academy during our stay in Northern Ireland. Must confess, blown away by the location, great view right opposite the Loch, with the ferry moving up and down. Nice rooms, clean and well maintained plus the Eating area was the highlighted located on the ground floor with great views of the ferry.

Strongly recommend this place to anyone visiting Northern Ireland and wishing to stay at a place with a great view.

Stay for a single night, 3 of us shared room No. 2 which unfortunately was next to an extremely noisy communal toilet so the noise pollution was pretty horrific but that's the only negative, the room was clean and comfortable with a double bed, a single bed and a set of bunk beds. The noise pollution was severely buffered by a visit to the nearby Fiddlers Bar which is to be highly recommended.
The buffet breakfast offered the following morning was more than adequate and the few interactions I had with the management were friendly and positive. I did see quite a few people dinning in this establishment which usually speaks volumes. Some rooms have en-suites and these I would assume are to be recommended if staying more than one night.
All in all I was happy with my stay, good value for money and terrific views, I would certainly use this establishment again.

Dear James O. Thank you for taking your time to write this fantastic review. We are glad you enjoyed your stay with and we are sorry your stay was interrupted by the noise outside your room. We do recommend our upper floor, en-suite rooms, with the fantastic views overlooking Strangford Lough and we are looking forward seeing you in the near future. Hearty breakfast, comfortable and clean rooms and beautiful views await. Thank you again for staying with us. Kindest regards Krzysztof Piorek
