We were staying at Ruddyglow as part of a group. My clients were staying at the Ruddyglow Shepherds Cottage which is just a few minutes walk through the garden. We stayed in both rooms as we moved one night so some of my clients, a couple could have the use of a walk in shower. The Lilac Room had an...

I travelled to Scotland with my friend to celebrate her birthday. We had a fabulous time and the whole experience was very relaxed and the perfect setting for the break we were looking for. The views across the Loch are amazing, despite the rain in the last few days! The room provided everything you would expect from a 5 star...

My friend and I went to Scotland for a short break and stayed at Ruddyglow Park. It was pure luxury from the bedding and towels to the view and cookies. Even though it rained most of it we found plenty to do and luckily the midges seems to be having a few days off so that helped. Would highly recommend.

On our travel thrue the Highlands we intended to stay two nights in the same place and chose this rather expensive location on the border of Loch Assynth. We booked the lodge for more pirivacy. This privacy was certainly given but a huge minus is, that the lodge was built behind the main house, which blocks every single spot of...

We were really expecting something special here..... "Country House".... a "5 star Luxury Bed & Breakfast". "A truly remarkable experience", "Fine Dining"......References including the hint of Michelin on the website, "Scottish Tourist Board GOLD"........etc etc! Even the imposing secluded driveway hinted at something very special. But no! We found ourselves confronted by nothing more than a bungalow......so much so that...

Excellent accommodation, service and breakfast. The Lodge is excellent accommodation (though no view to spreak of). The House is luxurious and fully of family history. Patricia serves excellent breakfasts to order. Dining room and lounge very comfortable with wonderful views. Patricia serves superb breakfasts to order and provides very helpful advice and information. Wifi intermittent though. In summary, highly recommended....

I have no hesitation in recommending a stay in The Lodge. Easy to find yet in the middle of nowhere. Breakfast was cooked to order by Patricia and her homemade smoothies were the best I've ever tasted. If we return to the area, I will be checking the availability of The Lodge.

Dear dannyandkate2016, Thank-you so much for leaving us such a lovely review. I especially liked your comment about our smoothies! that was praise indeed. Being in the centre of the GeoPark we are in one of the most remote wilderness left in Europe but I believe the views, the quiet, the wildlife and our amazing beaches it make it worth...

We spent 3 nights at Ruddyglow Park and loved it. The rooms are very comfortable, high class and offer magnificient views on Loch Assynt (and the lovely garden). The location of Ruddyglow Park is excellent as it is only a 10-15 minute drive to Lochinver, but also close to the mountains. On top, Patricia is the perfect host. Not only...

Ruddyglow is a wonderful place. Patricia is a delightful host ..... supplying useful information about the area, superb breakfasts, and your own personal Pine Martin and Badger experience... Dear Old_Mr_Darcy What a lovely review, thank-you so much for posting it. It's always a delight to read something like this and make a wet, dreay, highland day (typical west coast weather) seem a little bit brighter. Official Description (provided by the hotel)
Welcome to our home, in the beautiful north west of Scotland. We are a quiet, friendly, 5 Star Gold bed and breakfast surrounded by 5 acres of woodands and gardens that extend all the way down to edges of Loch Assynt. The main house is quite traditional with family antiques and old paintings whereas our Lodge Cabin is very contemporary, bright and modern and the perfect honeymoon hideaway. This are is renowned for its wildlife;- Red Deer, Golden Eagles, Pine Martens, Badgers (both of which we have living in our garden). We have a small hide that looks over the feeding table and gardens that a lot of our guests have spent many a happy hour in. We are also classified as a "Dark Skies" area which again can be seen from the hide or by just standing in the garden. The Milky Way runs directly over the house. In the autumn that Northern Lights are stunning. We are in the ideal location for fishing, hunting, walking or just exploring this stunning, wild and remote area. Lochinver, Achiltibuie, Durness, Handa Island and Knockan Crag are all close by. We love what we do and what all our guests to feel special, pampered and most of all to remember Assynt and our wonderful Scottish Highlands. ... more   less
