Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

This is probably the most lovely, the most home feeling B&B I've ever been to. All rooms are done up with good taste and are very comfortable. Lots of nicknacks for you to use, and even a complementary dram of whisky in the rooms. The breakfast served in the family kitchen makes it even more personal. It was difficult not to get up and not to help out in with the pans. Also Jane's waffles are just amazing. Thank you so much for having us!

Jane and Calum run a fantastic B&B. The location is second to none, overlooking the tranquil bay of Plockton. My wife and I could not have been more welcome, the environment was wonderfully calm and relaxing. The range and scale of the breakfasts was amazing and beautifully prepared. Attention to detail was brilliant, even home made cookies in our room. We spent 5 days here and enjoyed every minute. If you are visiting Plockton, I would highly recommend you book this wonderful B&B.

A friend and myself spent 3 nights at Mckenzie's in a room overlooking the harbour with a beautiful view. There was plenty of choice for breakfast and the atmosphere was relaxed and friendly. Calum and Jane are excellent hosts and we would definitely return. A big thank you from Angela and Lorna

It’s a cute little bnb in a family home. It only has a few rooms so it’s not crowded and feels very homie. The morning breakfast was great, there was tea coffee, hot chocolate and even a bisect waiting in my room for me when I arrived. Jane is very nice and her husband runs the seal tour so setting that up was very easy.

Rightly famous for its glorious breakfasts, my friend and I shared a room at Mackenzies, overlooking the Harbour for a night, during a five day whistle stop tour of the Highlands. Plockton was a lovely place for peaceful wandering and lovely scenery.

Mackenzie's is a quaint little B&B in an old fisherman's cottage on the waterfront in Plockton. It could not possibly be better situated to explore this lovely little fishing village and the views from the windows are magnificent. Unfortunately Jane had broken her arm when we visited and so had arranged for us to breakfast at a nearby hotel, so I can not comment on the breakfasts.

We have just spent six nights at MacKenzie's B&B in Plockton and have had the most fantastic experience. Callum and Jane were wonderful hosts, nothing was too much trouble for them, they were friendly, funny, helpful and really looked after us well. We had the double room upstairs and had a lovely view over the harbour. The room was very clean, the beds comfortable, it was roomy enough for us and to be honest, it felt like home. Our hosts provided us with a lot of information on places to go and how to get there. Unfortunately as Jane had her arm in plaster and wasn't able to provide breakfasts, we visited a close by hotel for our breakfasts and that was fine. We're sorry we missed Jane's breakfasts, they would have been great for sure. This was a very enjoyable stay for us, thank you Callum and Jane. By the way, Callum's Seal Trips, don't miss this, a real highlight.

Great b & b in a beautiful spot. Lovely room with a great view. The breakfast provided was excellent. Jean and Callum were lovely hosts. Highly recommend if visiting Plockton. Great seafood restaurant right beside McKenzie's but recommend making reservations upon arrival.

Jane and Calum's B&B is located on Harbour Street in our favourite village Plockton. The house is old and cosy and every time we come we get a very warm welcome! Our room is rather big with a good bed, a nice bathroom and a lovely rocking chair. And coffee, tea and hot chocolate plus a wee dram. Lovely! The breakfast is very tasty, maybe especially Jane's home made waffles. That is a really good choice! You have the breakfast beside the kitchen with the other guests and talking to Jane. We recommend the place!
