Tried this place twice for a quiet drink in October. It's certainloy got a great spot on the waterfront but both times we were there the service was abysml. The staff clearly couldn't be bothered, I appreciate these are trying times for the hospitality industry but i've been in plenty restaraunts and hotels and had even better service than usual. This was unaccptable. 15 minutes we had been there and the staff hadn't come near us. We had to ask someone to come over. I enquired as to whether they had an IPA on draught. They did. I asked what it was, 'I dunno' was the answer. No further information was forthcoming, nor an offer to go find out. The lady was surly frankly. We gave it another go with a view to booking a table for a meal the next day. The service was even worse, a young man, this time. Offered us no assistance at all in moving a table out of the rain so we could sit down, i was wiping the seat dry with one tissue which was clearly not enough, just watched, no offer to get a towel and when he took our order he couldn't have been more curt. After that we decided to eat at the Plockton Inn, which incidentally was great food and great service. I get the impression the Hotel was trading on it's location but to me that's not enough.…
What a lovely place to visit. We have been to Plockton several times before but not the Hotel. It’s a lovely hotel great rooms, all the staff are so friendly and the food is great. We had a great stay, thank you
We stayed at the beginning of November, it was quiet because of the restrictions on the first day but we were allowed to take drinks to our room. We hadn't realised but were pleasantly surprised to learn that the hotel were including dinner included in the price for a limited time. We had dinner each night in the cosy bar area, served by the friendly staff, the food was really lovely and good quality. Breakfast was excellent too. Our room looked directly to the loch, we slept with the window open as it was very mild for November. We will be back and we can recommend this hotel for exploring, we caught a ferry from skye to Rassay and finally got to travel on the famous Callums Road which took him 10 years to complete with hand tools. Its been resurfaced a few times, it was still nice to see. The Rassay Distillery was half open and we had a good chinwag with Callum who runs it. He is extremely passionate about it and I reckon it will be really popular and be a huge success. Was hoping to go on another Callum boat trip but it wasn't running this year. We were lucky enough to do a trip a few years ago where the band the ale is dear playing, a bar, whilst being followed by a couple of dolphins. Kirsty and yet another Callum Rose…
We stayed at the beginning of October. We had a call to say our room was no longer available due to a water leak and were offered a great upgrade at a discount, could not have asked for more. The owner and staff made us feel very welcome in these difficult times and the COVID precautions were appropriate and not over bearing. The food was very good and the service excellent. A wonderful setting overlooking the loch. We would definitely stay again and recommend to others, it was a shame it was only 1 night. Thank you for making our stay so pleasurable.
We stayed here for a week and had a great time despite the difficulties of the current restrictions. We had dinner each evening in the hotel with plenty of dishes to choose from including excellent lemon sole and Plockton prawns - everything was good! The staff are doing an amazing job of multiplexing between outdoor drinks/food service and serving residents indoors but are inevitably under some pressure at busy times. We'll be back again!
