Wonderful town with great views of the harbor. As a destination it can't be beat. Beautiful drive to get there from Skye or Loch Alsh. Restaurant is not on the water, but is charming as an old-fashioned pub. The food was disappointingly mundane...service indifferent, but you can't beat the scenery. Eating outside on the terrace would enhance the experience. I would go, but not expecting a gourmet experience.
Evening meal at a booked table. Food was good, prices reasonable as expected for a popular holiday destination. Service was good although the restaurant was busy. Good options on seafood on offer. Would go again.
The place was a bit disorganised when we arrived but they found our booking - phew! Room was OK and the bathroom a bit cramped but very clean and tidy. The food in the evening was terrific. Friends joined us for a meal and it was all great. The music in the bar was a bonus. A great, fun session.
The Plockton Inn is lovely. We popped in for a late lunch recently and were so please to have done so. A great setting in the Bar with lovely views, food was excellent and a really good selection of real local ales. Don't go past this wonderful gem - stay, eat, relax and enjoy the great food and lovely welcoming service...!
When I go out of the country I try to find local & charming places to stay so that I can connect with the locals. You have to make an effort to find this place as it is off the beaten path. Lovely water views from main road. Seal trip available from pier. Plockton Inn is one of those places. Lots of locals and dogs in the bar. The 2 dining rooms busy start to finish with the freshest sea food you will have. Employees very helpful and do everything you ask with a smile. Oh, I must not forget breakfast. Kippers, locks, eggs, pourage, black, pudding etc. Best of the whole trip . We stayed in the main Inn building. Everything is adequate for a good nights sleep. Nothing fancy. Like going to your grandmothers. It had been re freshened and bathrooms clean. Would highly recommend if wanting a true Scottish experience.
