Clean facilities, nice surroundings, very advised owners (CH & DE). Breakfast a bit thin, prices for lunch, dinner and drinks about 30-50% higher than local prices for similar quality. With a second visit I would check accessibility of tracks without a local guide. Nice hiking base camp.

Great view! The hospitality of the staff is superb. Stefan stayed up late to greet us when our flight was delayed. He made certain that we had everything we needed and went above and beyond to make us feel welcome and comfortable. The rooms are clean and fully functional. The Tamarind Tree was absolutely everything we needed as a home...

Attracted by the owners, being swiss, we enjoyed a 4 day stay. Dominica is really different from the sister islands here round! Having mountains from north to south, clouds tend to stop here, and pour what they have to! No water shortage, tropical forests, up and down streets. Not many beaches, but wonderful trails! At Tamarind you will get a...

We stayed here a couple of times and so loved how we were treated!! The staff was exceptional! The cleanliness of the room is top notch!! I loved that we could sit outside and watch the sunset--so beautiful and quiet!!

Even though the focus of this trip was birding and not laying on a beach we still would have liked more time at this charming small hotel. Liat was 2 hours late and as a result we didn't arrive until after dark. We booked Dr Birdy who is the best birding guide in Dominica for the next morning and highly...

Located above the Caribbean Sea close to Salisbury on the island of Dominica. Big rooms with fan and AC, fridge. Very clean, veranda with stunning view to the sea and cliff. Beaches within walking distance. Good restaurant with cool sea brise. Menu with good choice of food, creole, local and European style, rich choice of beverages, local beer on tap,...

When we booked our vacation at The Tamarind Tree Hotel, I told people that this would either be the worst vacation ever or the best. It was the BEST! The rooms are nothing fancy, but are clean and comfortable. The restaurant was wonderful. I was disappointed initially when I discovered that there was a set menu for dinner each night,...

As written before the rooms are nice and practicably equipped. Nothing extravagant but everything you need including a fridge. The view from the 2nd floor (superior rooms) is much nicer but take in mind that it gets dark at ~6 PM anyway. Also we didn't miss air conditioning on the 1st floor as there is a big fan in the...

We visited low-season and there were very few other guests. Overall the hotel is of a reasonable standard but nightly rates were very expensive. The restaurant food was good. The local staff were full of smiles....very friendly and extremely helpful - couldn't fault them. The owners were also amicable and talkative. The rooms were a good size, were clean and...

We booked this place based on the good reviews. Unfortunately we made different experiences. The place is run down, needs a complete makeover. The ceilings are full of mould, the room smelled of it, the blanket was dirty, the bathroom as well. The staff was not very friendly or helpful. Restaurant and bar are closed on Tuesdays. Breakfast is okay....
