We took the family room, a two bedroom two floor house with a wrap-around balcony. The idea was good, we would be close to the kids, but not be in the same space. The problem is the room is old and beaten up. It looks like no-one has touched it for a while, only a few lightbulbs work the mosquito... More

If you ever looked for an Indonesian standard place which charges like an upmarket place in France or Germany - here you are at the right place! After having lived in Indonesia for several years I found this to be the most shamelessly overpriced place I went to so far. Problem is less the decently priced rooms (low standard though),... More

We stayed for two nights (beginning of july 2015) in a bungalow with a view over the river. Really nice to see the monkeys from there in the morning or afternoon. Only minor is that the (bath)room wasn't really clean (according to european standards). Staff is really friendly and food in the restaurant is tasty. Prices of bungalows vary, depending... More

Staying here is definitely a real jungle experience! As we were shown our room, there were monkeys jumping about right in front of our room, an as we had a river view, we saw big lizards and other monkeys when sitting on our veranda. The room itself was disgusting, might be the worst I have ever stayed in (I have... More

Stayed here for 2 night, what an amazing place. Surrounded by the jungle and that's al there is. No wifi, no signal on my phone. Didn't bother me at all. We went rafting, jungle trek with elephants and just relaxing at the riverside. The staff is super friendly, they serve excellent food and it's pretty cheap.

We stayed here for 1 night as part of our Jungle Expedition tour to go to the elephant camp. The walk from the car to the lodge is about 15 minutes and includes crossing a wobbly pedestrian bridge. All accommodation is over this side of the river in Tangkahan. The room is very basic with no hot water & the... More

There's no hot water, there were ants all over the toilet and lighting barely strong enough to see your hand in front of you. But it's part of the overall experience and a very enjoyable stay. We stayed here as part of the Tangkahan Conservation Response Unit elephant mahout training. It's about a 20 minute walk from the lodge to... More

When we arrived we were met by some nice but unorganized staff. After waiting for 20 min or so we were shown to our room (room number 6). To get there you first pass by a nice sized pile of half burnt toilet paper and plastic bottles, then go around a very narrow corner that is next to a steep... More
