After staying in Alpenhorn bed & breakfast Inn, i don't think I want to stay in any other places in Big Bear! After a hard day snowboarding on the slope, we checked in at the inn right before Johann started cooking delicious Hors d'oeuvres and serve with wine at 5pm. We loved talking to all the guests and hear all...

We stayed at the Alpenhorn this past weekend. This place is fantastic. Great breakfast and happy hour. Both Evelyn and Johann are terrific. Only recommendation is don't make dinner reservations before happy hour because the appetizers are so good and plentiful, you won't be hungry later!

Disappointed that our favorite B&B had no consecutive nights in one room for our travel plan, I Yelped BBL B&Bs and saw this one, though newer on Yelp, was already highly rated. The price was a little higher than our other but, as it was the weekend before Valentine's Day, not unreasonably so. Making reservations was easy on the website....

Johann and Evelyn run the inn and have a great place. Johann is from South Africa and his wife is from California and travelled all around the world. They are both so interesting to talk to if you enjoy food, wine, travel etc. They serve great morning breakfast and appetizers in the evening while you chat around the fireplace. It...

One of those properties you want to keep a secret because you want it to be available when you are ;) But Johann and Evelyn are such superior hosts, and the Inn is so wonderful, that I feel obliged to share and give them the Trip Advisor high 5. Delicious food, enlightening conversation, fun games & lots of snow. Great...

This was our first stay at the Alpenhorn, one of many to come. My husband and I have stayed at many B&Bs, this Inn is elegant, although very inviting with such a homey feel. Our room was the Alpenrose. The bed was super cozy and comfortable with awesome linens, we loved the jacuzzi tub and I have never experienced such...

My wife and I have been coming to Alpenhorn for a few years and have always enjoyed the grounds and attention to detail, so we were a little concerned when we heard there were new owners. We had nothing to fear! Not only were Johann and Evelyn both there attending to everyone like they were family, but Johann brought a...

A group of 8 of my friends (young professionals) stayed at this b&b for our bible study retreat. The inn is gorgeous and the accommodations are so comfortable. Every room has a fireplace, jacuzzi tub, Keurig machine, and bath robes and toiletries. I love the mix of Swiss and South African decorations and culture. The location is great! Breakfast and...

We arrived during a snow storm and greated with Johann warm welcoming smile. The room had plenty of space well appointed with a private fireplace. Romantic and peaceful with no detail left out. Close to everything yet located on a quiet street. Thanks to Johann and Evelyn everything was perfect! We will definetly be back. Highly Recommended for couples or...

The place is beautiful, quiet, warm, and cozy. The Inn Keepers are two of the nicest, most respectful people I have ever met. I refuse to stay anywhere else while visiting Big Bear. We were visiting for a weekend getaway for my girl's birthday. We got snowed in for most of the weekend, but we enjoyed our time here.
