We stayed 4 days in July. The rooms are rustic but clean and comfortable with an outside seating area. The ranch is absolutely lovely. Beautiful walks all round. Friendly staff. We were there at the same time as a group - they were lovely friendly people. It's a great base to explore the area and at the end of very... More

I returned after a winter visit on my own for a summer visit with my 7 year old son. He loved the hiking, the nearby lake, the farm animals, and most of all the swimming pool! We stayed in a simple, comfortable and affordable cabin that was well equipped. We slept with the windows open and fan blowing (that they... More

I stayed in one of the cabins, which was simple and had a rustic, yet comfortable vibe. I especially enjoyed the healthy meals, served with love by the friendly hosts. I also loved exploring the trails on the property, and relaxing with friends in the ample spaces that make for great meeting spots. Be sure to check out the amazing... More

Already the way up from the main road down in Calistoga, increased my curiosity for the ranch. Every turn on the road leads closer to this green ranch with a diversity of huts and buildings that stand charmingly between the trees. The food was of excellent quality and taste and with an interesting variety for all types of diets. The... More

I spent a week at Mountain Home Ranch, and loved it. It is gorgeous northern California terrain, with 340 acres of hilly tree- and trail-filled land to hike and explore, beautiful views, and comfortable rustic cabins in which to rest. The hosts are gracious and the food worthy of seconds and thirds. Cellular and wifi service is accessible in some... More

This beautiful location on top of a mountain near Calistoga is a respite from the busy world. It feels like stepping back in time to a simpler time. Come expecting summer camp feel, not a luxury resort. The people are kind, the cabins well equipped, the food delicious and healthy.

A must do for anytime of year. A bonus for the holidays! Sitting with family and friends around the dinner table, I realized we were in the middle of Napa Valley in the middle of the Holiday Season without the tensions, noise and bustle of the holidays. No parties above. No loud blaring music down the hall or down the... More

I just returned from a week at Mountain Home Ranch. I stayed in the main guest house. What can I say? The bed was very comfortable, piled high with pillows. The food was wonderful. Everyone was very friendly and helpful. The grounds are beautiful. A great place for a workshop, a relaxing family vacation, a personal retreat.

John and I had a lovely stay at Mountain Home Ranch. It was peaceful, tranquil and relaxing. The scenery was beautiful. Accommodation comfortable and breakfasts delicious. An amazing place and the best part of our trip. Feels like you are going a little bit back in time in a very nice way. Reminded me of that series called The Waltons!... More

A throw back in time where TV wasn't king and you talked with people. John and Suzanne were great hosts, always there to answer questions, tell a bit of the history (over 100 years serving families), and to cook some great food! We are now a 5th generation visitor, bringing our grandchild and starting with my wife's grandparents in the... More
