This resort is great to start or end your Costa Rica trip. Close enough to Liberia. Plenty of activities to do. We booked the full day adventure tour. We did the horseback riding, tubing, zip lining and hot springs. We also went to see a...More

The hotel will provide transportation to the park, and you can hike all the trails on your own if you're so inclined. The trails are very well marked and you are given a map when you pay the entrance fee, so it's all well planned. You also have to sign in and indicate where you plan to hike, so the park people know you're there, and where you should be.
The volcano is not within hiking distance, and there are no trails to it (but there are plenty of things to see there instead--and there are several other volcanoes in CR you can go see).
Hello. It's not necessary. Guachipelin provides transportation to the national park, oropendula waterfalls and the hot springs. At the adventure office transportation is provided for the other activities.
