Zhiwa Ling is a gem - you'll know once you enter the grounds that it's presence is not like many other hotels you've stayed at. Bhutan is a relatively small country with a more than ample charm...hotels like Zhiwa Ling give this hidden masterpiece of a land definition. The hotel is defined by its' architecture. The first sight you'll see...

You can't beat the character of the hotel. As our last hotel, we felt immersed in all that we loved about Bhutan. Take time to walk around the hotel and visit the temple upstairs. We had the opportunity to try our hand at making a butter sculpture with the monks. The hotels rooms were big, nicely decorated and cozy. One...

Just had a great, but short two night visit at this impressive hotel. The staff here were very helpful. We were put into a suite, which was quite impressive and more than sufficient for us. It was however a little cold. Regardless, the most remarkable thing about this hotel is the architecture, particularly in the main building. Zhiwa Ling is...

A lovely place - our trip made memorable by the lovely warm people. The rooms are nice and warm, the floors are heated, cozy sunlit corners and the food is great. It's such a lovely property. Away from the crowd and stretch your legs as much as you can inside the property, if you get too comfortable.

Stayed here for 2 nights and the experience was just great. we were welcomed as in any 5* hotel and our check-in was done seamlessly we were taken to our room while our luggage followed us in a cart. The room was a suite with all the amenities. The floor...

This is an elegant hotel--quite a contrast with the rural guest houses we had stayed in for most of the trip. The spacious atrium with beautifully carved columns set the tone for the entire stay. The rooms were virtually suites, with balconies and all the western amenities. Food in the dining room was excellent with lots of variety. Staff members...

Simply a perfect stay. Hotel itself is stunning. Hand carved woodwork inside and out. Rooms are spacious but warm. Each with a balcony and views of the mountains. Service is out of this world. Restaurant has a small but good menu. About as close as you can get to the Tiger's Nest hike. The spa is a perfect way to...

This facility was by far the best hotel that we experienced in Bhutan. It is a traditional Bhutanese design with exquisite attention to detail. The common areas are stunning and the rooms are large and luxurious. The staff is extremely attentive without being over the top. There is a small but well-appointed bar with a well-trained staff. The food in...

After hiking and touring Bhutan with the wonderful Tashie and World Expeditions we treated ourselves to a night of splendour in what must be one of the most beautiful resorts in Bhutan. It combined the best of Bhutanese architecture with large, tastefully decorated and well appointed rooms. The food was really excellent too. In the attractive grounds of the hotel...

The 45-room Zhiwa Ling hotel combines the sensibilities of a fine Bhutanese guesthouse with the best of 21st-century technology. Envisioned and created by a local Bhutanese company, the hotel’s elaborate hand-carved wooden cornices and masterful stonework coexist beautifully with cutting-edge telecommunication systems and Swedish under-floor heating.
