Like many folks, we stayed for two nights at Le Meridien Paro Riverfront as a "staging area" for our climb to the famous Tiger's Nest. The hotel definitely delivered on those expectations.

The location and grounds are stunning ... right on a beautiful clear river with majestic mountains as the backdrop. All of the rooms have views of the river and the views are a great way to begin and end your day. The rooms were as expected for this type of property - comfortable with well appointed bathrooms.

The staff was professional and attentive as one would expect from a Le Meridien Property. The lobby was a terrific place to relax with wonderful views and a bar with cocktails and snacks. The restaurant had an expansive buffet with varied cuisine options ... I enjoyed the full variety while my traveling partner was actually getting over a stomach issue from the days preceding our visit and she was able to find "milder" foods that her stomach could handle.

While the Tiger's Nest climb is accessible to a wide range of ages and fitness levels, it is nonetheless strenuous, so we felt that it was important to stay at a hotel property where we could have a comfortable and enjoyable experience so that we could get the most out of our climb. Le Meridien delivered on those expectations. Our room was quiet and comfortable which enabled a good nights sleep. We were able to relax in the pool / sauna / steam room before and after our climb.

Perhaps most outstanding was that the breakfast staff - without us even asking - went above and beyond and packed a container full of breads, muffins and fruit for us to enjoy on our climb!

Le Meridien Paro is worth the stay regardless of your activities, but for us, it was a particularly good choice which enabled us to be well rested and prepared for our Tiger's Nest trek as well as providing a great place to relax and celebrate our successful climb!

My husband and I chose this hotel as part of our honeymoon itinerary in Bhutan. We were greeted by the front desk staff, Deki, who took the initiative to introduce the hotel amenities and services to us.

We were most impressed with the Executive Chef, Tanuj. When we arrived for our breakfast buffet, he approached us and offer us chicken broth and congee. This is very well appreciated as both the chicken soup and congee was super tasty and kept us warm during the cold season in Bhutan. He is also very attentive to our requests and was initiative to suggest a menu for our dinner. On top of which, he fulfilled the requests of dumplings perfectly to which both my husband and I appreciate it very much. As we have to catch a very early flight in the morning, the hotel was kind enough to arrange for a packed breakfast for us to takeaway with. The whole F&B experience made the stay very memorable.

There were some minor hiccups in the rooms as we experienced sudden electrical faults during our first night. We highlighted to the front desk and they took actions immediately. Thankfully, it did not reoccur on the second night.

We have just came back from a few nights at Le Meridien Thimphu, so of course we had to compare. First of all. The hotel setting is perfect. That is what you want, so you can really take in the beautiful unspoiled nature of the country of Bhutan. The hotel is modern and clean and has definitely a sense of tranquility to it. The design really compliment the view of the river. The only downside was the service. Maybe it was because we were treated so well as Lifetime Titanium Elite at the Thimphu location that it was maybe a let down. Both hotel are very nice. One is a city hotel the other one way on the outskirt. Great location to visit the Tiger's Nest.

The LM, Paro Riverfront is a lovely hotel in Paro on the banks of the Paro river. It is close enough to the airport and city center to be convenient and yet far enough to provide tranquility and the enjoy the scenic setting of the hotel. The exterior is traditional Bhutanese while the interiors are contemporary with all modern amenities - gym, spa, indoor pool. Most rooms have great views of the river and are clean with all amenities and a strong wifi. The bathroom has a big tub with shutter windows that allow you to gaze upon the river as you soak. There is a shower cubicle too. The highlight of the room is a lounge couch by the window that lets you gaze upon the gardens, the river and surrounding rice fields. A great spot to have your morning or evening coffee while reading a book or catching the news on television.
Another great spot if you would like to enjoy the fresh air is the terrace adjoining the "Latest Recipe" restaurant. It overlooks the gardens and river and always has a cool breeze flowing through. Early mornings and late evenings may call for a cardigan or jacket depending on time of the year.
The hotel restaurant "Latest Recipe" serves an international spread for breakfast and dinner together with local Bhutanese cuisine. The service is great with the team led by chef Satyajeet going out of their way to check on you and cater to individual requests.
5 star hotels in Bhutan are not cheap, especially with the high taxes but if you do decide to pamper yourself then the LM, Paro Riverfront is a great choice.

we only had 2 nights at this hotel but it was so nice so could easily have stayed for a few more nights.

the food selection was a bit too indian for our liking as would have liked a higher degree of international food selection. just a small matter as to croissant in the morning - in a brand which consider itself a european brand should not have breakfast without croissant and soft buns.

the service of Ugyen dorji Barattendand at the lobby bar was outstanding and if you go there ask him to prepare the emamojito or serve you a glass of bhutanese red wine.

the new employee Tshewang Choda did always try to do his best with a helping hand to make sure everything was to our liking.

Geeta Biswa was also very attentive asking how we could assist.

we had an early flight out of paro and then hotel prepared a very nice breakfast bag for us as we had to leave before the restaurant opened.

We stayed at Le Meridian for three nights at the end of our tour around west Bhutan. The welcome upon our arrival was lovely, as was the treatment throughout our stay. The highlight for us was the attention we received from the Chef de Loyalty - Tanuj Bahuguna.

Having arrived in Bhutan approximately one week earlier, my husband was recovering from an upset stomach. Consequently he was avoiding foods that were too spicy. The "tourist menu" we indulged in during our tour (to that point) was great, providing a great variety of fresh food. We did notice however that the buffet was predominantly serving spicy Indian style mains. They also served salads and pastas which we decided would be a more sensible option for us.

Tanuj approached my husband and after discovering his stomach issues prepared an a la carte style beef dish for the two of us, which was incredible. He mentioned that he may not be around the second night (as he was overseeing a conference dinner) but would ensure his staff were ready to create another meal for us. We were pleased to see he did make it in time for our second dinner. Another exquisite meal arrived. He also advised us that a complimentary "take-away" breakfast could be organised for our walk to the Tiger's Nest the following day. We selected sandwiches, danishes, fruits, muffins, water. All of which were carefully packed and ready for us at 6:00am the following morning.

On our third night we did not see Tanuj when we arrived for dinner, nevertheless we had a lovely pasta meal. And let's not forget the desert bar:Tiramisu, self serve icecream etc etc.

Thankyou to all the staff at Le Meridian, but a special thanks to Tanuj who went out of his way to make our stay extra special.

We had booked this hotel via our travel agent as a part of the tour package. This was the second Le Meridien we chose for our tour after Thimphu. And this hotel did not disappoint either!

Check in and Check out were well handled and smooth. We got a traditional welcome with the hotel staff providing a white scarf along with a welcome drink & hot towels. We were explained different facilities available at the hotel. We were guided to the room which was spacious, clean and well decorated. The rooms were facing the river & mountains in the backdrop, so the unit provided was perfect given the location.

We had breakfast & dinner in our package and as there were limited guests we were given the option to select anything from the menu or suggest a dish that the restaurant could prepare and serve. Chef Rahim was quite helpful, regularly checked on our requirements & if we were happy with the food/service and dished out some amazing food along with his team at the restaurant.

The property is located right by the river, so we did explore the riverside a bit. We could also see a few flights landing, given that the hotel is just a few kilometers from the airport.

Service across the hotel was perfect and we were asked at regular intervals if we wanted anything specific and how the experience at the hotel was.

The hotel around 10km from the main city & market. So you would need to drive down if you wanted to explore the city or the market. But I doubt there are any major hotels in the main city area

But we were really happy with the experience and will definitely visit again.

LM Paro is truly spectacular!! The river and mountain view from our room was splendid, the staff is warm, welcoming and always trying to please.

Their restaurant has a heartwarming view while you enjoy the luscious buffet, they also house an extensive menu when we opt for an ala carte. The chef's personally come to visit you to make sure you enjoy your meal.

The river facing swimming pool and their award winning spa is a must do. After our trek I went in for a Hot Stone massage followed by a sauna and steam which was completely rejuvenating.

The rooms are large and clean with regular turn down service. The room service and house keeping is prompt making our stay even more pleasurable.

A definite no brainer when you are in Bhutan

Amazingly located property with excellent service from the staff. Special mention about Chef Satyajeet, who made us feel home by making us taste different cuisines and dishes each of the six days we stayed. Truly appreciate the way he consistently went over and above. Also, wanted to commend the property manager - never seen a manager of that stature who doesn’t blink an eye to even lift the broom/vacuum cleaner to help the staff!!!

My husband and I visited this beautiful river front property with our family, and no words would do justice to explain how incredible our experience was. Apart from the great weather that Paro already had to offer our stay at Le Meridien Paro was nothing less than a fairytale. Right from the Manager Manish with his great hospitality to Chef Rahim with a scrumptious spread of local and continental food the friendly staff really leaves no stones unturned to cater to your requests always with a smile on their faces. The hotel is decorated with charming wooden floors ,all river facing spacious rooms, some gorgeous decks, a fully equipped gymnasium, heated pool, jacuzzi, a relaxing spa with amazing therapists and endless greens being the cherry on top, there's nothing you can really fault. I would totally recommend if you're looking for a dreamy holiday and a lifetime worth memories!
