The Tickle Pink Inn garners praise for its enchanting atmosphere and generously appointed rooms that feature indulgent amenities, including champagne and chocolates. Guests are delighted by the panoramic views and the hotel's proximity to the ocean, which is a highlight for many. The service at the inn is often highlighted as exceptional, with staff going above and beyond to offer a welcoming experience complete with delightful breakfasts and evening receptions. While some find the pricing steep, the overall value is appreciated due to the complimentary offerings and exquisite cleanliness. However, a few guests have suggested that some rooms could benefit from modern updates.

We have stayed at some beautiful places over the years, but Tickle Pink Inn was something special. We arrived after dark so we didn't immediately see the view although I knew the water was out there from the pictures online. I woke up early the next morning to see the view from our private terrace & it certainly did not disappoint. It was beyond spectacular! I immediately felt relaxed! The breakfast that morning was fantastic! Every single thing we ate was so fresh; the croissants, the pastry, everything!! I hadn't even remembered that breakfast was included so this was an especially nice surprise. We had planned to get an early start at Point Lobos that day, but quickly revised our plans so that we could enjoy the Tickle Pink Inn & all it had to offer. Taking home the slippers was a nice souvenir. I mentioned when checking out how much I loved the oatmeal soap & asked if I could take an extra home. The person in the office gave me three bars instead of 1. In addition to a well appointed room (so luxurious!), once in a lifetime view & delicious breakfast, we also had a cold bottle of champagne chilling in our room & some specialty chocolates when we arrived. Our only regret was that we stayed for one night instead of two. For the rest of our trip I kept calling the Tickle Pink Inn the Tickle Me Pink Inn because that accurately reflected how our stay made us feel!! If you have the opportunity, stay here. Worth every penny! We hope to be back again one day!!

Wow, this hotel was absolutely perfect. We stayed in room 17 with a balcony on the 2nd floor overlooking the ocean. The view was beautiful. The cars or traffic noise on highway 1 didn't bother us at all, our room was high enough where all traffic noise was very muffled. The inn parking lot, while tight, was very manageable and not at all terrifying as other reviewers made it sound. Also, this is one of the few inns that offers a happy hour wine and cheese buffet and a full breakfast buffet. After a year of being secluded with in-room only deliveries, it's so nice to see a few other travelers (everyone was masked and it felt completely safe and clean).

The location is remote but we were prepared for that, as I don't believe other hotels or inns in Carmel by the Sea offers the same beautiful rugged coastline view that Carmel highlands offers. I'm so glad we stayed at Tickle Pink Inn and not their neighbor, the Hyatt Carmel Highlands. I believe Tickle Pink Inn is perched higher so all the rooms have an oceanfront view, while some portion of the Hyatt property is definitely blocked by trees. I would definitely stay here again.

This hotel was romantic, lovely, and peaceful. Room 24 fit our needs perfectly as we had our own private staircase and a beautiful view of the ocean which we never tired of on our private terrace. The hotel staff followed COVID-19 precautions to wear masks at all time, and we especially appreciated the prewrapped cheese platters that we felt safe to take and enjoy during the complimentary wine and cheese reception hour. Complimentary breakfast delivered in the morning was another nice perk. Location was great as it was only 15 minutes to Downtown Carmel and close to some hikes we were able to do in the morning without worry of crowds. We can't wait to return here!

I can see why the Tickle Pink is highly lauded and has many fans. It's very well-situated for exploring north to Carmel/Monterey or south to Big Sur. The views were astoundingly good from our top floor ocean view room. The welcome at check-in was warm, efficient, and thorough and we were surprised and delighted by sparkling wine and chocolates delivered to our room shortly thereafter and enjoyed excellent wine and snacks for their evening wine reception. The room was cozy, sparkling clean, and somehow had lots of seating and desk space even though the room isn't enormous. Great housekeeping and warm breakfast delivered to the room.

I really like how small and quiet the property is. There is a lovely hot tub area we didn't get to enjoy that was secluded and lovely.

Our favorite part was sitting in the loungers on the patio near sunset, enjoying a glass of wine and epic ocean views!

My only niggles are the mattress could have been more comfortable (seemed hard-ish or maybe just in need of replacement) and the shower pressure was rather low.

If it's available, book it!

Our 1st time at the Tickle Pink Inn was a wonderful 3 night birthday trip. Ocean View Room 3 was only a couple of steps down from the parking lot, so easy to get to your car, although parking was tight. Upon arrival, in addition to the complimentary bottle of champagne on ice, there was a red rose, candies and a nice b-day card. What a nice surprise. The room was decorated nicely, good bathroom and the balcony and chairs were great. The view to the below right was the outdoor dining area where we had our evening wine and cheese reception and breakfast. Also you could see the Carmel Highlands Inn Hotel. Ahead and down was the ocean view and Hwy 1 and to the left was the property and ocean view. It was nice sitting out on the balcony. In the room there was a list of complimentary movie DVD's to rent from the office and we enjoyed some old time movie favorites in the evening. The cheese and wine reception was tasty and we enjoyed that before venturing out to Carmel or Monterey for dinner each evening. The wine was good, but the selection only 1 white (?) and 1 red (Pinot Noir) and the same ones each night. We probably could have asked for other reds as they had a room service menu with others, but we didn't bother. Breakfast was average and a little cramped one day when it was wet outside so we had to cram into the living room area inside and hold a plate on our laps, but then it was cozy next the fire. The location was nice away from town, but close to head out to Big Sur south or Point Lobos north and quick to get to Carmel. The service was very friendly. We had a great trip and would stay there again. See photos of the above.

Tickle Pink Inn is in the highlands south of Carmel, on the road to Big Sur. It is somewhat older. It is next to and surrounded by the Highlands Inn, a Hyatt property. The rooms are very large. Ours had a wood burning fireplace and a fantastic view of the cove and the ocean. It is just south of Point Lobos, which is a great place for hiking. There are no restaurants nearby (the restaurant in the Hyatt is closed due to COVID) so we drove into town for meals. The hotel provides breakfast (brought to your room now, also due to COVID) and a daily wine and cheese session on the patio overlooking the ocean.

I cannot say enough nice things about this hotel. The staff was friendly and very helpful. The wine and cheese happy hour and breakfast were just great. The views are spectacular and the room was wonderful. The thing that really stands out about the Tickle Pink Inn for me is is the attention to detail. Simple things like plugs on nightstands on both sides of the bed, to the beautiful and professional information packet you get when you check in, it shows that the owners and staff care deeply about your experience. Again I can't say enough about how great this place is. I only wish our trip would have allowed us to stay longer.

My husband chose this hotel for our 40th anniversary trip. My dream has been to go to Carmel and what a treat this was. He chose the hotel simply by the name as he said it sounded like something I would like and the lady he spoke with on the phone was very kind, friendly and informative. I was a bit nervous as I'm super picky when traveling. I so wanted to love it, but, with it being an older hotel, I was apprehensive. We had a beautiful suite that overlooked the ocean. Everything was fabulous! Our room was very clean and I think the carpet may have been recently installed as it had that new carpet smell, which I love! So that helped! The bathroom was very up to date with a beautiful shower and vanity. I loved the large window across the room with a full view of the ocean. I can't say enough about the friendly staff. We were given delicious chocolates and we chose the cider as we don't drink alcohol in our room when we arrived with a sweet note. The hotel serves a delicious breakfast brunch. The display is perfect and beautiful. At sunset you can enjoy wine and cheese on their beautiful deck and watch the sunset on the ocean. Again, they will have cider if you don't want to partake of wine. I just can't say enough about it as I loved every minute of being there. The beds are comfy and clean. If I had anything to complain about it would be if you are on a lower room you might hear the people above you running the hot tub. We had neighbors that used theirs for hours on end. But, you get used to it. Also, the sheets that were on our bed when we arrived had a couple of rips in them. I didn't complain as they were clean etc. Maybe they got rid of them by now. When our linens were changed that week, the sheets looked much better! I so hope to be able to go back to the beautiful Tickle Pink Inn someday soon!

This is a very special place and I have had special weekends with my husband in the top level rooms with stunning rooms, but I would not recommend the Senators Cottage just above PCH (read road noise), high voltage electricity wires blocking the stunning views, and a huge eucalyptus tree also blocking views. That being said, the whirlpool tub and views from the private patio are gorgeous (minus the wires and road noise). Too bad so much of the views are blocked from the cottage for such a steep price. Next time I’ll definitely stay in the high level private rooms.

I am sorry that the Senator's Cottage did not live up to your expectations. It certainly has its following with our guests that need or like the extra space and privacy. We do have rooms and suites that adjoin in the main building if you do need the extra space, or a cozy room with a great view for double occupancy as well. Please give us a call the next time you would like to book so that we may help you choose the room that best suits your needs.

We arrived early for our much anticipated 5th Anniversary. Although our room was not ready we strolled the beautiful grounds and enjoyed the beautiful day. Shortly after arrival to our room we were welcomed with a bottle of champagne and a small box of chocolates. The room was equipped with anything you should need, and a full size coffee maker it’s Starbucks coffee and real cream in the mini fridge. We spent many hours on the lanai taking in the gorgeous views of the Pacific, watching the waves crash on the rocks below. We didn’t get a room with a fireplace, but will on a return stay. Very romantic!
