Normandy Inn is conveniently located on Ocean Ave., close to everything, including the beach. The rooms are nicely decorated, and there are lovely plants everywhere on the grounds. A generous continental breakfast is included. The common areas are nice as well.

I stayed here with my partner March last year for our anniversary. it is a little outdated but it matches the feel of the town. It was a little pricey but location was good it was a short walking distance from the town center and a couple of blocks from the beach which involves a steep incline coming back but...

Carmel by the Sea is a magical place and the Normandy Inn is the perfect place to enjoy the atmosphere, the shopping and the great food. It is near enough to the beach to stroll down to watch the sunset. It is a charming spot to sit and people watch. The staff is most helpful--and so friendly. We stayed in...

This hotel is in a fantastic location for the beach and town. It offered hot drinks and sherry in the lobby when we were there. The room was nice but would be better if the light from outside could be blocked out.

Overall, the Normandy Inn was the right choice for our stay. The room that we had looked like the bathroom had been recently updated, so that was nice. The rest of the room was a little forgettable. The location of the hotel was nice. At one end of the main drag area. Easy walk to the beach. Breakfast left a...

Our fifth stay here. Appears newly painted and landscaped. Room 101 is comfortably large, with presto-log fireplace, nicely street level, albeit with small bathroom. Breakfast comes with cold cereal, a banana, plastic knife to cut banana, cold hard boiled egg and a few muffins. No hot breakfast stuff ala cheaper Best Western, Comfort Inn, chains, etc. Location at west end...

We spent 3 nights here. The location is perfect and we also enjoyed sitting by the fireplace with hot tea or cider after a day of enjoying Carmel. The continental breakfast was OK, and we enjoyed meeting some of the other guests--from Georgia (the country) and throughout the USA.

Inn is the right word as the Normandy is not a motel or hotel per se. The design of the place with its cottage-like sections charmingly spaced, as opposed to a monolithic structure, has such a wonderfully relaxed feel to it. It's the perfect fit if you want to get the flavor of Carmel's golden age. Enjoy Ocean avenue, on...

If you are looking for a hotel that is reasonably priced with a friendly staff and near everything in Carmel, especially the famous beach, this is it. The rooms are more than adequate as is the breakfast. In all, I highly recommend; and I will stay here on my next trip to one of my favorite places on the planet.

Nice, clean place in the center of Carmel. Restaurants, shops, and the beach are all within walking distance. Only stayed one night. If you stay here be sure to ask for a second floor room. We were on the first floor and could hear the people above us walking. The person at the front desk gave us some excellent advice...
