We spent 3 nights here. The location is perfect and we also enjoyed sitting by the fireplace with hot tea or cider after a day of enjoying Carmel. The continental breakfast was OK, and we enjoyed meeting some of the other guests--from Georgia (the country) and throughout the USA.

Inn is the right word as the Normandy is not a motel or hotel per se. The design of the place with its cottage-like sections charmingly spaced, as opposed to a monolithic structure, has such a wonderfully relaxed feel to it. It's the perfect fit if you want to get the flavor of Carmel's golden age. Enjoy Ocean avenue, on...

If you are looking for a hotel that is reasonably priced with a friendly staff and near everything in Carmel, especially the famous beach, this is it. The rooms are more than adequate as is the breakfast. In all, I highly recommend; and I will stay here on my next trip to one of my favorite places on the planet.

Nice, clean place in the center of Carmel. Restaurants, shops, and the beach are all within walking distance. Only stayed one night. If you stay here be sure to ask for a second floor room. We were on the first floor and could hear the people above us walking. The person at the front desk gave us some excellent advice...

Good location within walking distance of the whole town and the beach. Room 104 was a larger size room. Very clean. Although our room faced the front street, there is very little traffic at night and we did not hear any noise. It is an older place but fits the character of the town.

We stayed here for two nights and had Room 201 which is on the corner of Ocean and Casanova, just across from the main hotel complex. The room is in effect a small bungalow in a group with a pleasant communal garden adjacent and was tastefully furnished and had an ante room with marble topped cupboard for making coffee, drinks...

Lovely place to spend overnight stop, could have stayed longer. Very unusual with flowers everwhere - pleasant. Rooms well appointed and good facilities. Bed comfortable, large bathroom. Lot of steps so limit heavy cases and car parking in centre quadrangle limited. So you might have to park on street which isn't a problem as pull in on the roads are...

Great destination hotel in the heart of Carmel. Plenty of nice stores and restaurants within a few adjacent blocks, and within walking distance of the beach. Most rooms have a fireplace for a cozy evening. Not cheap but worth treating yourself.

Great spot if you have a budget and need to go to Carmel. One night is likely enough of a stay. It's an easy walk to the beach and right out the door to the Carmel shops. Carmel is filled with tourists, so it is not the unique village that it once was. The Normandy Inn was fine in all...
