If you want to stay in a cosy romantic old house (with only 12 rooms) with nice details, wooden floors, high ceilings etc. this is the your place. Stay away if you expect a 5* Hotel. It is more a Turismo Rural than a 3* hotel but offers a nice pool in the backyard, free Wifi and parking lots. The...

Hotel Solar dos Lilases is an old palace turned into hotel. So... This means exactly what you're thinking. It's an old house, almost completely refurbished in order to accomodate guests with enough comfort to cal it a hotel and throw 4 stars at it. It could have had 3 or 5, I guess that is a debatable issue. I'd have...

Less than a two hour drive from Lisbon brings you to Mora and the Hotel dos Liláses. The hotel is a quirky old building, lovingly restored by its owners, Jaime and his family. Painted ceilings, four poster beds, it has it all. Mora is well situated to enjoy the rolling plains of the Alentejo, and, of course, its amazing food...

Just spent 5 nights at the hotel on a fishing trip. The hotel has been restored and extended beautifully by the owner Jamie, and the facilities are excellent. The room was large with a sitting room, and large bathroom, very comfortable after a days fishing. The continental breakfast and the evening meals were good and the service by the owner...

Been to this hotel twice now, first time with my Son, second time with my wife. First trip was for fishing only, one of the rivers only five minutes drive from the hotel. Day water ticket only €1.00 per day - worth every cent! More lakes and other rivers in the local area. Second visit with my wife and Son....

Marvellous place. Beautifull old restaured house. Beautifull paintings on the wall and an extremly beautifull room decoration. The city is very quiet and this hotel is fantastic. Very good traditional portuguese food. The staff is very friendly. I will return to that marvellous place!

I spent there a very nice weekend. Everything was fantastic: the house itself (beautiful, with all those paintings on the walls), the simpathy of the owners, the quality of the food and the tranquility of the place.
