Ok, if you have never slept in a caboose, you just have to at some point in your life. Went with my son on the way back from college, and it was great. We stayed in caboose number 1, which was shaded and nice, and super roomy. Pool was nice and did I mention you get to sleep in a...

I was disappointed in all aspects of my stay; first off when I booked on their website I CLEARLY stated I was arriving after their posted hours. I didn’t receive any communication on how to get into my room late night and upon arrival my partner in travel got admonished by a worker for waking them up to get a...

If you are planning a trip to Redding/ Mount Shasta and have atleast 1 night's stay to be booked in the area, the Railroad Resort at Dunsmuir is THE place to spend the night. Its midway between Redding and the town on Mt. Shasta and less than a mile off I-5. Sleeping in a caboose room is an experience in...

If you have kids or train lovers this place is a no-brainer. It is quirky and kind of old-fashioned. The rooms in converted train cars are clean and comfy, not luxury but perfectly fine. Beyond all of the train memorabilia the setting is quiet and breathtaking. You can feel yourself unwind and relax. Kids loved the pool and I enjoyed...

Just home from spending the weekend here. I have lived in Redding for 25 years and never had the occasion to come up here till now... What fun... Truthfully I did not expect it to be as nice as it was... Our caboose #1 The Erie was beautifully placed amongst the trees at the entrance... Our spacious and delightful bathroom...
