I found that I had an amazing experience at Boshack with it's cool farm, calm lake and comfortable tents. It gave my group of friends a break from the city and a chance to relax. Two things I didn't like though were the lack of air conditioning and amount of bugs in the area. Fly-screen in the tents and air conditioning would've made my day.
The Boshack was a great place to take our son on his first camping experience. With just enough amenities to keep everyone comfortable while still giving an authentic camping experience, we would highly recommend this place to anyone who was looking for a weekend trip away with family or some friends. There is a common room the size of a small house and with views of a lake that sometimes left me feeling like I was on safari! Derrick the owner was a really great host with the perfect balance of letting you relax on your own without being disturbed, while being available if you wanted any help.Came back to Perth after 2 nights feeling like I had been on a relaxing week long holiday.
I recently enjoyed a two night stay at Boshack Outback for some one-on-one time with my four year old daughter. From the moment we left the sealed road, we felt relaxed and slipped right into outback mode. We arrived to the spectacular view of the lake and warm welcome from Deryck. That afternoon we joined a tour and both found it excellent. The variety of activities kept my daughter interested - her favourites being the trailer rides and feeding the horses, while I also found it fun and informative. The evening finished with a hearty and delicious meal - thank you Terry!! The next day we whiled away the day building a teepee, canoeing on the lake, and spotting kangaroos, lizards and birds in the bush. The endless skies and natural lake make this a very special part of the world. Thank you Deryck for sharing it with us and giving us such a wonderful experience. I will be back with the rest of the family!…
The highlight of my trip was being in a canoe out on the lake and also spotting the long neck turtles in the evening. We stayed warm by the outdoor fire and gazed at stars that filled the night sky. Perfect spot to connect with nature.
We organised to go to Boshack for New Years Eve as a different but great and relaxing place to get together with friends and all of our kids. There's plenty of tent accommodation situation around or adjacent to a beautiful lake. It is a true WA experience complemented by the nearby very charming town of Toodyay which you pass through on your way. The owners are hospitable and warm and do all they can to make your stay memorable. It is the second time we have been and our kids love it. Thanks to all who made it a great night and day. A lovely way to welcome in 2017.
