We had upgraded dinner service with Crab and Japanese style bbq. Food was good but the quality of service made the whole experience down. I understood that our dinner is supposed to be served as course meal. Not everything at once. Our server put every course meal, from starter, sushi, middle refreshment, nabe, crab course to rice and miso soup... More

Great place to stay and have several walking tracks with a great natural outdoor foot bath. A walking distance to Hokkaido milk cafe that sale great milk and soft serve. Tamanoyu offers a complimentary mochi making class too!

Good: - I chose this ryokan because it's really a small establishment and gets you away from all the noisy tourists and groups in other bigger hotels around. - Service in impeccable, nothing to be surprised about coming from Japanese. - Kaiseki was served in their dining room, which was acceptable since there's limited number of people. The food was... More

Don't get me wrong this Ryokan is quite alright. Service is of a high quality as one would expect from a jap ryokan and facilities are quite alright. However, if one is paying 33k yen a night, certain standards must be met, which i felt were quite woefully short with tamanoyou. 1) Kaiseki and room booking. Japanican is one of... More

My Wife and I stayed in Tamanoyu for three nights during our visit to Noboribetsu early Feb. The hotel is a very charming and small Japanese style hotel, but very big on the experience. It couldn't get more Japanese, with spacious tatami floor rooms, very japanese dinning setup, lovely onsen and everything very clean with shoes out in the lobby... More

Incredibly cute hotel, very traditional! The onsen bath was amazing with a great outdoors onsen, as well as an indoor one. While there they had a moti (rice made delicacy) workshop tha was really fun and entertaining. The food was amazing, we had dinner and breakfast, really beautiful and delicious. Amazing hotel overall! The staff was very friendly and caring.

It is a nice traditional japanese style hotel, we have stayed there for 1 night. On the day we left, the hotel offer a rice ball workshop, it is a good activity for kids. I may say the price of the stay is very reasonable. The staff are friendly and the reception is good. Even not the expensive one, the... More

We have stayed there for 1 night before travelling to LakeToya, 1 of the staff can speak English, not good but we can still understand. The room is in traditional Japanese style and also we had traditional Japanese dinner and breakfast. Food were excellent as well as the service they provided. We were surprise that they provided free wifi service... More

We had stay for 2nights,mainly because we are travelling to lake toya in first day,it sort of intermediate stop before going to sapporo. The price of hotel in noboribetsu is always higher than sapporo due to limited hotels in this area, this hotel is range medium high compare with others. We had chosen this hotel mainly for 2 reason, first they... More

We had difficult finding the hotel at first as its name is similar to another. It is located on a busy shopping street and there is a 7-eleven and minimart nearby. We had a room with a toilet but no bath. Being inexperience in booking Japanese ryokans, we did not realized that and attached toilet does not automatically mean an... More
