We loved staying at this hotel however if you book a Junior Suite request the 2nd floor. We heard our upstairs neighbor every movement which was not appealing at 6am each morning. The bed was extremely comfortable, rooms are private, windows open to the Pacific breeze and staff were wonderful. The hotel is in a prime location to restaurants, shopping,...

HOTEL’S FAVOURITE REVIEW

The Grande Colonial came highly recommended by friends who visited La Jolla in June 2016, and boy, were they spot on! What a fantastic hotel and restaurant. The common areas and guest rooms are tastefully decorated and cozy. Our suite #512 overlooked the pool and had a view of the ocean as well. This suite had two queen beds, each...

My family loves coming to this hotel. The place is clean, staff is friendly and helpful and it's located in a beautiful part of LaJolla. We never stay anywhere else! Personally, I like the historical building. It's lovely with so much charm.

Very nice stay, conservative atmosphere but excellent taste. Great location. Staff were very accommodating when weather turned nasty. Drove us to dinner 1 block away. Liked that it was not so large a place.

I love this hotel! I'm a local, and yet I've stayed here a number of times (termite evacuation, too many guests, needing a break) and every time, I've felt like I'm falling in love again. What's to like? The glorious rabbit warren of up the stairs, through the hall, down the stairs, find yourself in yet another beautiful niche; the...

Location Location Location. In the heart of La Jolla - close to the Cove, shops and dining. Room was nice, well appointed for an older hotel. Service staff was pleasant and accommodation and loved being delivered by the London Cab... Will stay here again

Location cannot be beat. You can find parking on the street nearby if you don't feel like paying their valet fee. Friendly staff. Comfortable room--old hotel charm with modern upgrades--the perfect mix, in my opinion. Nice, quiet room. The common area/main lobby is gorgeous.

Completely modernized, yet faithful to its storied past, this intimate boutique hotel harkens back to a quieter, more dignified era, when travel meant something special and personalized guest service was a hallmark of every stay.

Dear 52jenss: We love your description of our hotel. We are indeed an historic hotel, having celebrated our Centennial just four years ago. But beyond our turn-of-the-century architecture, our true hallmark is our warm, gracious and genuinely-friendly staff. I'm so happy to hear that came through during your stay. Please come back and stay with us again in the future....
