I stay here twice a year. Rooms are clean, have a frig and stove with basic cooking essentials. What is great is there are no TV's, or radio's. Challenge yourself to a stress free no technology getaway. Beautiful mountain surroundings and you can walk to the store, restaurant, beach, campgrounds, stables and fishing. Yes the cabins are rustic but they...

These cabins are not luxurious but have the basic essentials. Huntington Lake in general is not that upscale so you need to keep things in perspective. The selling feature here is that they are walking distance to a nice restaurant & bar (and also a small general store). I do motorcycle trips to Huntington and these are perfect for my...

We've had use of a cabin in Dowville West at the west end of the lake for more than 30 years...so we are well acquainted with the area. We happened to take a trip to Huntington Lake before the road was open to the west end of the lake. Not wanting to return to southern California immediately we decided to...

My family and I stayed at the resort recently and we were surprised from the moment we set foot into the cabin. I'm all for rustic, but filth is another story. The shower was terrible and clearly had not been cleaned. After showering, the water would not turn off. Maintenance moved us to another room that was was a little...

I rented a cabin for a single night for two. It turned out to be a dingy little cabin (not very clean). It was ill equipped with no drinking cups or glasses and the bed looked suspicious as if it had been used already. To top off everything there was no water. The toilet flushed one time and no water...

After personally checking the cabin you stayed in for 9 hours and then complained about, we discovered that someone had turned the water off to the toilet and the sink. If you would have read your check in information, it clearly states that after hours problems are to be directed to our phone line and maintenance on call. We take...

Quoted me $95. I asked for a Federal Government rate (currently $89). She said "No." I told her I appreciated how affordable the $95 rate was, but that I can only get reimbursed $89 and could she accomodate me. "No," she said, "We're not real big fans of the federal governement sir, but we were willing to let you stay...

Dear Sir: It is not refusal of service to deny a discount when asked. Had you asked for the manager, you would have been given the government rate for the cabin. The clerk did not have knowledge that we accept the government rate till after your conversation with her. Please keep in mind that we are a small mom and...

On booking we got an email which repeatedly mentioned "rustic". This means rural, not standards which are well below par. I have travelled throughout Europe, SE Asia and Africa. I have never had to write an review like this. We stayed 10 minutes then left. We booked into a pleasant room in a hotel at Shaver Lake which was 30...
