We loved being at this site, we visited in June and it wasn't very busy at all, even with the pack of DofE kids coming for a few days.
The toilets and showers were always clean and tidy, I never had to queue, even with those extra kids I previously mentioned.

The facilities in terms of washing up, family changing, disabled washrooms etc were fab and always clean. The bonus of having washers and dryers would be great if you were staying for longer than the week that we did. We made use of the freezer to store water bottles, it was clean and none of our things went missing.

The whole site is immaculate and well looked after, all the bushes and grass were cut and it was well lit at night without interrupting your sleep but great for the walk to the toilet. We had some particularly bad wind (which ended up ruining our tent) but the owners were out quickly the next day to clear away the branches and things on the site.

The owners were really nice too. We liked that there was a games room with lots of pamphlets and vouchers for local places.

The burger van, which sold more than burgers was a hit on the Saturday night and Sunday for breakfast! They delivered to your pitch too!

We moved out of Devon and onto Cornwall after a week but we wish we could've stayed longer!

Thank you for detailed review. We are pleased you stayed with us before lockdown on 22nd March 2020 and sorry to hear you experienced bad weather. We re-opened on 4th July 2020 as a We're Good to Go certificated site so things are a little different than when you stayed with us and some facilities like leaflets in the information room are not available during the pandemic. We do though have a free mobile app for download on Android or Iphone which covers a lot of information about the park and what to see and where to go in our locality and things are getting back to what they were in Tavistock with the Markets re-opened and many of the shops and independent retailers open again.

I stayed in one of the new pods for a few nights last summer in between different phases of lockdown. For the money these really are remarkable value for money, very space conscious with everything you need and perfect for a solo traveller like me. It's really unusual to find a place which is such good value and so compact so for me this was a real find.

Parking is easy - literally outside the door and the pods are so well designed. They're essentially studios with a pull down cosy double bed, shower room and small but well equpped kitchen with oven, microwave and pretty much everything you need. There is even a bluetooth stereo - perfect for those warm summer nights lounging on the small decking outside. if you need to do laundry (I didn't) you can use the parks laundry facilies which are less than a 2 minute walk away and any essentials can be bought either from the sites own small shop or the larger local convenience store around the corner. Tavistock is less than a 10 minute drive away with larger supermarkets, banks etc.

The park itself has a lovely location, right by the main road with a short drive to the Moor. Staff are lovely and really friendly and helpful and the pods have everything you need for a perfect stay. I will definately be back.

Had a lovely visit here in the early post lockdown period. It was my first outing in a new to me folding camper and I wanted somewhere fairly local to me which was going to be quiet and spacious. This site met the bill. We took our own toilet facilities but did use the site ones once, they were very clean and the social distancing signage and sanitising stations were clear. It was so good I’ve already booked 2 more short breaks here this summer and will no doubt be back again after that!

From the moment we arrrived to the moment we left we were made to feel very welcome. On arrival the lovely warden showed us direct to our pitch. He was very informative and helpful with a little bit of playful banter. As we followed him to our pitch my husband and I commented to each other how it was such a warm welcome.

The warden took the time to get to know the guests staying at the site and he is a great asset to the park. Being a fellow cornishman himself he even put the Cornish flat up for us the day we arrived!

The site itself is very well laid out and immaculate. Although the showers were closed due to covid you could book these using their online app. We had facilities in our caravan so did not need to use them but we could see they were a nice size and cleaned after every time slot.

Our children throughly enjoyed the park and tennis. They made lots of new friends and did not want to come home. My 8 year old son said it is the best camping trip he has ever had!

We stayed on a hard standing pitch which was a lovely size with a lovely view.

Their app is very handy with lots of information about the site and surrounding area. You can even pre - order food from the bakery for the next morning.

There was a lovely food van on site with an extensive menu if you didn't want to cook. It was very reasonably priced.

We will definitely be visiting again.

We booked a couple of nights this last weekend, large family group using a caravan and two tents so 3 pitches in total.
I have been here before as a couple but this was the first time for the larger family.
The welcome was warm and friendly, easy to follow instructions to get to pitch. Social distancing of course .
First impressions were they looked very busy nearly every pitch had something on it.
We soon explored the site kids loved the large play area and of course the river that runs through the campsite. Adults reported the toilet shower block were clean and fresh, I used the caravan so self sufficient.
If there was a mutter it would be the toilet block needed to be closer but that would be but picking.
Overall peaceful, beautiful location and plenty to occupy the kids.
Love this site for families.

Stunning

We visited in March, unfortunately in our tent. It proved too cold for us overnight and we cut our stay short, but we will definitely come back again.
The static caravans looked perfect for winter breaks
The place was immaculate at all times and the wardens were always on hand to help or just a quick chat

Stayed here for 4 nights. Welcomed by the park ranger who was very helpful and assisted immediately during our stay (barrier not picking up our registration plate). Really well kept site, showers and toilet block a bit tired but still kept really clean. Amazed by the washing up area, didn’t find any left over food in plug holes like you normally do which was pleasantly surprising.
Nice little games room and okay area for kids. Nice and safe for them to bike round.
The reviews say two pubs within walking distance. The only one we found was in the main road en-route from Tavistock. The road was busy and I would have wanted to walk with two young children. But that’s not the fault of the site.
Would definitely recommend for anyone in the area looking for a nice quiet site.

Just returned from another short break in one of my favourite places, and as usual, thoroughly enjoyed it. We stayed in one of the little pod/cabins and it was perfect for the two of us for a 3 night break. Covid restrictions are still in place, so only self contained accommodation is allowed at the moment. There were plenty of caravans and motorhomes on site as well as most of the static/mobile homes occupied, but strange to see how quiet it was onn what would normally be a busy bank holiday weekend.
There's been lots of changes to the park in the 25+ years we've been going and especially a lot over the past couple of years, also Covid restrictions are in place at the moment, but it still retains it's peaceful, relaxing atmosphere and we felt safe and secure. There's been improvement to the roads and paths around the park, more hardstanding, upgraded games/ information rooms (currently closed) numberplate recognition barriers, the shop is well stocked, and there's a useful takeaway van on site at the weekends.
We love it here and will keep going back.

We stayed here as an extended group of 12, with a few different pitches inc riverside, main field and also a shepherd’s hut. None of us had been before, and were all struck by how well run this site is. Despite being busy (Bank Holiday weekend during the pandemic!) it never felt ‘overrun’ and a great deal of thought had been put in to plan the site and offer clean and effective facilities. Staff were very friendly, and the place was peaceful. We loved swimming in the river, and walked into Tavistock on the ‘old road’, through lovely countryside. The food delivery can- complete with orders delivered to your pitch- and fresh on re bookable morning pastries from the shop were fantastic touches too.

Just spent a couple of nights back here in the first week of reopening due to the Covid crisis. We've been coming here for over 25 years and we're desperately in need of a change of scenery and a break. We were slightly apprehensive about travelling, although it's only an hour away from home, but we needn't have worried, all was perfect as usual, and we felt very comfortable and safe with all the extra measures put in place to ensure safety and cleanliness. Thank you to all.

The water is patchy as far as depth is concerned, mostly suitable for kids to paddle and play with the rocks, in a single word I'd say no.

Are there any pubs or restaurants nearby?
Answer from Paul W
Tavistock, United Kingdom2 helpful votes
There two pubs each about an 15 minute walk or very short drive from our holiday park. 'The Trout & Tipple' beside the road to Tavistock and 'The Peter Tavy Inn' in the other direction in the village. Both pubs have been rated highly by our guests and are much frequented by locals. Further out on the west edge of the Moor are 'The Standard' at Mary Tavy and the well known 'Elephant's Nest at Horndon - the locality has many other good pubs . In Tavistock, just over 2 miles from Harford Bridge Park, there are restaurants of all kinds; too many to list here, but if you have particular requirement (Indian, Chinese, gastro, whole food, pizzeria, pub grub as well as cafes and bistros, take away or eat-in) it's in Tavistock!. Hope this helps ...
