Traditional grotto above Lugano in the Colina d'Oro area (a bit tricky to find the place) The local dishes are prepaired on the open fireplace. Big terrace where you can enjoy the good food (try the risotto al funghi...). Flora (a very charming person!) and her family are doing a great job - this place is definitely worth a vist.

My wife booked this hotel as overnight stay during our family trip to Italy. Choice was made based on photos showing pool. This was essential for our kids. First off all this is located quiet far away from the highway. You need to drive through very tiny streets to get there. At the location there was not enough parking space....

The hotel is situtated in agra which is a suburb of lugano. The Agra locality is beautiful. There are very few buses which take you to the hotel and the bus stop is very far from the hotel. On sundays reaching this hotel can be a problem. So we had to take a cab to the hotel . The rooms are...

This B&B is a 40 or 50 franc taxi ride from Lugano, and getting back and forth to the American School in Switzerland (TASIS), only 2 km away, costs the same because the taxis come from Lugano. There is a bus that runs approximately hourly from Lugano and stops by the American School as well as very near this B&B....

What a charming family run B&B. Excellent restaurant that serves dinner and breakfast was great too! Hosts are super friendly and helpful. Clean rooms and in a quiet area. Everything you need for an enroute hotel to Italy.

My one night at Grotto Flora is one of my favorite memories of a B & B. It was so charming and magical in December, decorated incredibly for the Christmas holiday. The outside patio dining areas were as charming as the interior dining area. Santas and lights, and decorations everywhere. I highly recommend visiting at Christmas, it was so festive...

We stayed one night. A real typical Grotto, nice room with terrace. A real big shower cabin and a good bed. We had our dinner here, after driving from Siena, Tuscany and appreciated that I didn't had to drive downtown anymore to eat!!! Typical Ticino food we ordered and the breakfast was very good, after traveling 3 weeks through Italy,...

We were here for one night and it was a charming B & B high up on a hill overlooking Lugano. Flora met us upon arrival and showed us a choice of several rooms. We picked the large corner room with the beautifully painted ceiling. It was very clean and comfortable and the breakfast, which was included with the REASONABLE...

This B&B has been in one family for several generations and really provided the small-village European atmosphere we were looking for. Breakfast was great and the accommodations are varied and unique. We had difficulty finding it over the several times we returned to it during our stay. You wouldn't want to stay there without your own car because of the...
