We were looking for an interesting place to celebrate my mother's 90th birthday with a family group spanning four generations, and the Tudor barn was perfect. The photos didnt really do it justice, it was beautifully preserved and very comfortable, and huge, so you didnt even really notice the beds down the sides as there was so much space. We walked in and said, "Wow!" Juliet was extremely helpful both beforehand, explaining how the place might work for our family, and during the event, cooking a delicious celebratory meal for us to enjoy in the atmospheric candlelit barn on the huge refectory table. She provided a firepit to light one evening, facilitated an Easter egg hunt, and provided a projector screen so we could sit around the woodburner on the comfortable sofas and armchairs to enjoy some family photos. The farm is beautiful, with lovely farm walks marked out to enjoy the unspoilt field margins and woods, and we saw deer and newts as well as enjoying the spring birdsong. There were piglets and chickens which the children enjoyed visiting, and the barn was a very safe place for the children to enjoy, with a fenced off garden for playing in the sun and watching croquet. 20 or so of us also used the good bikes privided to explore some of the stunning local villages using clues provided! The local area is ideal for cycling, not too hilly and with pretty terrain. Thank you very much, Juliet and Christopher for a memorable visit…
We had the most wonderful weekend at Milden Hall, staying in the Old Brooder Bunkhouse. It was the perfect Hen Party location for a countryside getaway. The Bunkhouse had so much space for everyone to sleep, for dinner parties & for games - the perfect home away from home with fully equipped Kitchen & all the basic amenities you need. Milden Hall is perfectly set up with all the activities - we borrowed the Bikes and went on 'pub crawl' along perfectly quiet lanes, enjoyed the Farm Walks & even had a life drawing class in the lounge of the bunkhouse. Juliet was always on hand to help, to give tips on what to do & make sure it was the perfect weekend. Couldn't recommend highly enough!!!
We have been getting together as a mixed friendship and now family group for a number of years and the Tudor Barn wins hands down. The barn was beautiful, well cared for, clean and well equipped - the attention to detail really made all the difference. You can literally just turn up and start your celebrations as everything has been thought of - beds made up, towels provided, logs on the fire. Fantastic hosts - I really can't recommend highly enough.
When I first heard the price for our 3 day party at the barn it seemed a bit pricey...but hey, it was my daughter's 30th so I figured it was worth it. As soon as I walked into the barn I knew it was worth every penny. The photos really don't do it justice. Before we arrived, our host Juliet seemed bit fussy about rules so I was concerned that there might be issues....but she and her husband were absolutely wonderful. The kitchen is incredibly well stocked with everything you need to prepare meals for a big group. If you are a coffee drinker be aware that there are only French Presses which many people enjoy but I find to be a bit messy. The heated floors of the entry hall, the kitchen and the main bedroom suite (which I grabbed for myself!) were wonderful. Such a great perk when started your day on a cold morning. The costumes were so fun and our big dinner for 23 people all dressed up at the long table looked like something out of Game of Thrones. In spite of being enormous the barn was actually cozy as we all gathered around the fireplace. I brought my bicycle and enjoyed a couple beautiful rides around the local countryside. The village of Lavenham is about 3 ½ miles away and is incredibly charming with a fantastic Indian food restaurant, cozy pub with great food, bougie boutique wine shop and a well stocked general store. We left the place as we found it so Juliet was great about returning our entire deposit. The Tudor Barn is a great place for a big gathering but also great for smaller groups. We will be back!…
Absolutely excellent place to stay. Much cosier and warmer than expected which was a real plus in November. The kitchen is fully equipped for cooking for large groups. It really was the perfect place for a large group of friends. We had the best time dressing up in the tudor costumes and we were even provided with a keyboard. I couldn't recommend this place highly enough!
