We wanted to stay somewhere a bit special for the last night of our Californian adventure and certainly found it with the Venice Beach House. The best compliment that I can pay it is that it is like staying with friends rather than in a hotel. A lovely property with plenty of space and lots of comfortable chairs and loungers...

We liked it a lot, felt at home and so close to the beach! Unfortunately during summer you get young crowds around the place and we had to endure music right under our room that kept us up (we eventually went there and turned off the music ourselves :-) ) Staff a bit rude but it's fine. Bathrooms are shared...

The Warren Wilson room was great with terrific décor and a great location 1/2 blk from beach, a lovely garden and comfortable porch. It was not problem to share bathroom; it was never occupied when I needed it. But, after paying for 2 nights in the Wilson room, I decided to stay a 3rd night, and was put in the...

I want to thank everyone for all their honest reviews. As I reminder, our prices for all rooms including suites is based on double occupancy. Even rooms with multiple beds are included. This is a standard hotel practiced by most hotels around the world. I want to wish everyone safe travels!

Venice Beach House is beautiful and the staff are wonderful. Only metres away from both the beach and a main street packed with restaurants and bars, it is perfectly located for Venice Beach. It is also only a short bike ride or walk away from Santa Monica. For those with cars, there is great parking and for those without cars,...

after flying into LAX, our family of 4 (2 adults and 2 kids aged 11 and 9) stayed for 2 nights at Venice Beach House and we were not to be disappointed - the house itself is fabulous and is located literally on the Ocean Front and close to many restaurants and bars but yet is so quiet and tranquil...

I have discovered the Venice Beach House about four year ago and it was really a revelation! Now, every time I go through LA, I stay there! It's home away from home, it is so cosy! The house is so charming, the rooms are comfortable, the WIFI works well, the breakfast is great, served in a nice breakfast room. It's...

When we travel to Maui from the UK to visit our so we like to stop off for a night or two in LA. After using the big hotels, and grumbling at the cost, we went on a recommendation from my ex to try this beautiful old house now turned into a small hotel. It's right near Venice Beach Pier,...

We loved this spot and were sorry to leave. It's a beautiful craftsman house with remarkable original detail, and the location near the beach is fantastic. The staff were very nice; the breakfasts ample and delicious; the rooms quiet; the bathrooms spacious and clean. There are many lovely spots in the surrounding garden to hang out, read, eat breakfast, or...

We spent 4 days here last summer, to be honest, the house is may be 50 meters from the beach, very close to the Venice pier. Nested in a beautiful garden, you'll want to enjoy a glass of wine in the patio after a busy day in LA and a dive in the ocean. The rooms are beautiful, our kids...

Staying in Venice

Neighbourhood Profile
Venice
Venice has always danced to its own beat as the epicenter of bohemian culture in Los Angeles. Along the boardwalk there are street performers and local craftsmen selling their wares. Original paintings, souvenirs, and jewelry are on display. Crowds of visitors marvel at the sites while weightlifting enthusiasts pump iron in plain view, and skateboarders do their tricks around the skate park. All of it happens under the warm California sun with sprawling views of sand and sea. Heading east, the main drags of Abbot Kinney Boulevard and Main Street are lined with boutique shops, some major retail stores, art galleries and restaurants. Here the ambiance is more relaxed and upscale than the frenetic boardwalk area. Venice is a mostly walkable (and certainly bikeable) neighborhood, full of areas to explore.
