And trust me, I have been traveling since I was a student (read broke). I have stayed in hostels sharing rooms with 4-6 people in Barcelona, I have stayed in hotels with shared hallway showers paying 30-40euros for a night, I have done it all and this is BY FAR the worst hotel experience I've had. First off, you will... More

My room had no fan or A/C and it was hot, so I opened the window. And I found a cocaine spoon on the window sill. I asked the front desk to remove it but they did not. I understand that this hotel is a budget hotel and I am not expecting everything to be perfect, but I would not... More

Possibly? From reading other reviews, I must have had a bad experience or these people must have either low standards, choose as you wish! The room smelt like a urinal, the carpet was black, but meant to be cream, the shower didn't really work, although a bathroom, it had the odor of a uncleaned bathroom. There's nothing in the room,... We stayed in the hotel for one night before we moved on on our trip. The hotel was in the perfect location to visit Venice beach. The staff were very friendly and helpful. The rooms were very basic and a bit small but for the price they were good.

The staff were EXCELLENT - in that SO CAL laid back way. They were attentive, helped with recommendations, provided beach towels and bikes. They were super good. The room was clean and airy. We especially loved the rooftop lounge - a low key place to hang out and watch the sunset, listen to the waves hitting the beach or just... More

Me and my wife stayed here for a night and we loved it! The rooms are small but very nice, and the rooftop patio is amazing for relaxing and people watching! The location was second to none as well, you literally walk out the door and you are on the Venice boardwalk. They also rent bikes here is you want... More

I love this hotel only for its location. 4/5 stars for the location alone. It is a very basic hotel, with no pool or extras and runs about $250 USD per night. I have stayed here several times. If you don't need to be by the beach, you can find more bang for your buck elsewhere. But I love me... More

I booked a room at the last minute. I was greeted by Brian at the front desk, who was very informative, professional, yet knows how to laugh. When a family emergency came up, that I had to cancel, I've never been treated so well! Brian made a call to Lindsay, and Jeff, and between the 3 of them, worked out... More

Good location right near the beach. Parking is limited and difficult to get into spaces, and expensive for the area ($25 per day). There is cheaper parking further up the alley ($15). No fridge in rooms, no coffee, but clean and modern bathroom compared to bedroom. Carpet very worn but bedding nice. The roof terrace is great to watch the... More

Staying in Venice

Neighbourhood Profile
Venice
Venice has always danced to its own beat as the epicenter of bohemian culture in Los Angeles. Along the boardwalk there are street performers and local craftsmen selling their wares. Original paintings, souvenirs, and jewelry are on display. Crowds of visitors marvel at the sites while weightlifting enthusiasts pump iron in plain view, and skateboarders do their tricks around the skate park. All of it happens under the warm California sun with sprawling views of sand and sea. Heading east, the main drags of Abbot Kinney Boulevard and Main Street are lined with boutique shops, some major retail stores, art galleries and restaurants. Here the ambiance is more relaxed and upscale than the frenetic boardwalk area. Venice is a mostly walkable (and certainly bikeable) neighborhood, full of areas to explore.
