First of all, the cookies you get when you arrive is very good. Not healthy, but tasted really really good. My wife kept asking them them for more the next day. Guess they have a quota or something. My wife got two, then requested 2...More
Daniel, the voice available when you hit 0 from your room was super cool and friendly. I asked him for a microwave and 10 minutes later, a microwave came. That's nice, but even nicer was his call 5 minutes later asking if the appliance came....More

Used my Hilton Points to stay here last month. Solid hotel with nice size rooms and a super staff. The tea garden and shuttle service were added bonuses! Beautiful view of the LA skyline especially at night and who doesn’t love the Doubletree cookies?
Excellent service and attentiveness by the staff. Easy in-and-out for parking. Very nice location on the edge of Little Tokyo. Many Japanese restaurants and shops nearby. Chinatown also only a few blocks away (20 min walk or a short drive.) About 30-60 min. from LAX...More

Downtown Los Angeles is a busy metropolis of towering buildings, bustling streets, and industrial warehouses. There is a distinct multiplicity of cultures here with a growing influx of business professionals and hipsters. Many call the evolution of Downtown over recent years gentrification. New lofts, bars, hotels and restaurants are popping up regularly. Downtown is home to some of the very best restaurants
in the city leading the LA foodie scene, plus it is the location of cultural and sports venues including the Walt Disney Concert Hall, the Staples Center, and the Coliseum at the University of Southern California.

Union Station is within walking distance from the hotel which gives you either Bus or train connections to Long Beach. The easiest way probably would be to stay near LAX and book your transportation thru Princess for a stress less and seamless commute. You can do it with multiple connections, but it would take time and effort when you are supposed to be enjoying yourself.
I took Greyhound to Long Beach and took Uber to the port and it was easy and quick.
