We must've just hit this State Park at the wrong time. We were told it was a great place to see birds and wildlife, but we didn't see any at all. Disappointing. The drive, however, was curvy and scenic. And there were lots of campers and bicyclists around. A very popular place.

We originally came here to try to see some tide pools at low tide. I guess we just hit it at the wrong time but we never did see any. We enjoyed a short walk on the beach and then we parked and took an easy hike down a gravel path to the edge of the cliffs over the water....

We started at the sand spit road parking lot and walked down to the beach. We then strolled along the beach for an hour toward Morro Rock, before turning around and only saw a hand full of other people the whole time. Very beautiful, secluded and serene.

Big WOW for this state park. We spent the day hiking here. Bring hat, water, jacket, camera and lunch, good walking shoes and a smile. The power of the ocean is truly felt here. There is a beach as well as hikes on the cliffs. The place made me feel really happy and very small.

A beautiful easy walk on a paved walkway along the cliffs overlooking the ocean. Enter the national park and drive to the end. The views of the crashing waves were amazing, rock formations and the birds.

We stayed for three nights on the Montana De Oro State Park campground (site 40). The campground is not very big and is fairly primitive (vault toilets only and no showers), but what you get is a very beautiful environment and a laid back atmosphere. Choose one of the sites on the outside of the last loop if you can...

Beautiful shoreline views of crashing waves and pounding surf. Sea caves, stacks and arches. Drive to the end of the road, park and walk back along the Bluff Trail. There is a bathroom (pit) at the parking lot. Watch for rattlesnakes! Dogs are not allowed.

This place i love to go anytime i want to and the place i keep bragging and taking my friends and family whenever they come to visit. Some said its like Dublin (never been to Ireland). You can sit on the benches while watching the waves keep splashing the big rocks whenever its high tide. Or watch the sunset when...

This campground has no running water, and the toilet facilities are pit/chemical style. That said, the toilets are well maintained, and not smelly. And the campground itself is well laid out, the spaces are large and the sites on the outside of the loops are really nice with trees and shrubs between them for privacy. It is a short walk...

The views were better than we expected. We had ventured out just for a hike and found ourselves among a beautiful seascape among rolling hills. I can image how even better everything would look in the spring with the lush green and spring blossoms. We called earlier for the tide information and were able to enjoy a large tide pool...
