I booked this place because of the price and location; my parents needed a a weekend away and it was perfect! The owner was so kind to my parents, they are looking forward to going back! (And that never happens!) They were happy with the room, and the amenities, but were more impressed with the service and kindness they were...

What a charming inn! My family spent the night here, taking two delightful rooms on the ground floor opening out onto a patio and pretty garden. The rooms are beautifully decorated, cheerful and very comfortable: my daughter’s and my room was hung with lovely flower prints on pale yellow walls, with a corner fireplace, my husband and son’s room had...

Wonderful, clean and modern Inn. Very friendly and welcoming staff. Centrally located near the wharf and convention center- all within walking distance. A plus is the corner store and restaurants, all within walking distance, you'll never have to drive anywhere! I would definitely return.

Merritt House was the perfect spot to stay in Monterey for our Girls weekend. Our room was nicely appointed and cozy. Since it was cool we were able to have a fire in the fireplace on the evening and morning of our stay. The location is perfect to be able to walk to all the quaint shops as well as...

We recently stayed at the Merritt House Inn and found it to be a very charming B&B. It is within walking distance of downtown Monterey and Fisherman's Wharf. Edmund was especially helpful with restaurant recommendations and other information. The breakfast area is somewhat small but it is possible to take food back to your room. Recommend staying in the private...

It's not fancy. The furnishings are simple, the beds are comfortable and the breakfast ample. If you are looking for a good "base camp" to go and enjoy the wonders of the peninsula this would be an affordable choice.

If you like the "old charm" kind of hotel, this was a fairly good one. The rooms are very small and the view will be to the side of the neighboring building but at least they have a clean paint job on their wall. ;-) The beds are very comfortable. The staff is very nice. The breakfast is served on...

The Merritt House was a great location while staying in Monterey as we could walk to old town and the wharf. The room was cozy, clean and comfortable, but the additional parking fee seemed unreasonable especially since only two or three of the designated parking spots were really accessible. Breakfast is definitely a thing to miss; better to take a...

The hotel was comfortable, friendly, clean, warm and well located for pedestrian precinct walk to waterfront (via micro-brewery, also well worth a visit). Good value for the area and it has good parking as well.
